Global Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research also famous as GIPER College is well known for its scientific research and quality studies. It is one of the oldest pharmacy institutes in the area. The college was established by Dr. Anil Kumar Saxena who is well known scientist and former chairman at CDRI Lucknow.
I was preparing for NEET and after several attempt I was not able to secure a seat in MBBS college. So I decided to pursue in pharmaceutical industry. I was also inclined towards the research and development sector and this course provided me the base I require. B. pharm is full of chemistry of all kinds eg., physics, inorganic, organic, and Medicinal chemistry. The faculty at GIPER is highly qualified and experienced but there is a constant shortage of assistant professors. The laboratories are well maintained and all required apparatus are present. Highly expensive equipment like UV spectrometers and Disinterest are present. The college provides 5000 scholarships for students achieving above 75% in semester exams also Government scholarship programs are provided.
During my final year at Becholer, I opted for an internship in a local pharmaceutical industry called Drugcell Pharma. The college provides internship programs in Dehradun and also in near by Pharma industries.
GIPER students are considered as superior in local pharmaceutical industries and placements are provided locally. Very less to No recruiters visit the college most of the students doesn't pursue higher studies.
The location of college is very accessible but the college campus is not up to the mark. The college grounds is very tiny and the parking area gets flooded in rain. The canteen rare opens and does not provide and food support. There are no hotels so only day schooling is possible. For extracurricular activities sports such as cricket and volleyball are present.
Companies do come here for placements and many students get placed as well but there's always the student factor as not everyone deserves to be placed either. My seniors are getting placed at 8.7 to 40 lpa specially the mba courses are getting placed higher.
the placement support at DBS has been one of the best strongest aspects of my experience. the university regularly organized internship and live project, mock interview, aptitude training and industry interaction to prepare students for placements.
To sit for placements, the students have to be in 3 semester. Few famous companies that came in for placements are HCL, Tech Mahindra, ICICI, ANZ, Infosys, Wipro, etc. The highest package this year went up to 40 LPA and average package was 8.7 LPA. Around 95% of students got placed this year. For me I want to work in corporate for a few years then I want to pursue my PHD side by side.
College have decent placement percentage which is ofcourse higher than other local colleges near by.Our college have avg package around 6LPA and every year big companies like TCS visit our college for recruitment offering good packages.
I am preparing for other services currently but yes the college do provide good opportunities for future, even the college has good record in placement for AME, BHM, BCA, PHARMACY courses. Majority of students apply for further studies in our course.
Agriculture department is all about Internships and we have good collaborations with various institutions and training labs for polishing the hands on practical. The college provide good opportunities of works. The departments like AME, BCA, IT, BHM has good placement record.
I would say the college really provides wide opportunities to the specialization courses, as I preferred to go for further studies, but my batchmates got placed in good environmental industries because of the Degree.
Placements are very good. Placement criteria is based on cgpa and student behaviour. Good cgpa and no back allowed you to sit in placement. Highest package is 1.24 cr and average package is 4lpa. About 60% students get placed per year from campus. Tech Mahindra, TCS, wipro, Deloitte HCL etc companies visited fir placement.
I choose this course mainly because I wanted to pursue marketing for quite some time as I am extremely extroverted person. The faculty here are pretty well qualified atleast the ones who have taught me they really take interest in making everyone interact and share opinions
There are good placement and job opportunities are there in off campus placement because there are many sites whivh provide job and internships like inteshala and there are many other platforms to find the job and internships
