Thane is considered a great college, with a good campus, The admission is based on Mathematics marks of class 12 th, and No entrance test is there, generally, it's easy to get admission, The College has 3 cuts lists and you get admission based on that
I chose BSc IT, It well constructed and has a good syllabus, yet it can be improved as IT and CS are growing fields, and new things come now and then, The academics are like other college, sometimes the portion is not complete it common in other colleges as well, the Faculties are nice and cooperative most of them have their masters degree some Phds as well, For scholarships yes there are some and students of both general and reserved categories are eligible for them and have gotten it Fee Structure (2021-24) FY - 28 k SY - 34 k TY - 28 K (it might change )
I have gotten an internship, form the links that are shared on college groups, the staff is nice they guide students more than the placement cell does. I got an internship in AI/ML for 3 months
For my batch of IT and CS, there were no placement opportunities provided by the college. Yet other departments do get offers and the company generally visits the campus. IT used to visit Birla it was well known but don't know what happened. For internships yes some Tie ups provide internships but students have to pay to get them, it should be changed
One thing Birla College is famous for, is its campus, the campus is big with lush green gardens are nice views, The infrastructure is also really nice, buildings and labs are well maintained. There are clubs and Art circles at Birla College so students join them and participate in various college-level and university-level competitions No hostel facilities are there.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
Diffrent companies have different criteria, limited companies comes in campus such as bootcoding Pvt.Ltd , and some small companies arrived. Highest package giving by companies is 4 LPA lowest package is 3LPA and average package is 2.5LPA. about 20% of students got placed. Searching a job after my course computation.
The faculty members are supporting but inexperienced the experienced professionals have left the college long time ago. This is one of the old colleges in Pune. The semesters are generally proactive extracurricular activities are less and are given not much priority .
There are the placements are done in the final year of college, You are eligible for the appear in the placements drive you have to score good scores in the semester exams. There are the lowest 3LPA and highest 6LPA packages are offered by the companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, BOAT, SBI , Ultra Tech, Mahindra, Capgemini etc. Students have to maintain their SGPA up to 8.0 CGPA.
engineering course curriculum is very old specially for university batch students my batch get admission in 2022 at that our college is not get autonomous status. passing semester exams is little hard in university compare to autonomous batch. faculties teachings methods are very old. And not practical learning provided.
