- The campus life comes first in this answer. There’s Fests, Parties, Events, and everything you want in your college life. The rules are liberal, there’s no CCTV Cameras anywhere inside the campus, the implementation of most rules is also very lax, the freedom to roam around, have fun is unmatched. There’s no hostel curfews for both the guys and the girls, the campus is safe and it’s a great place to explore new things, try stuff and not regret anything.
- The opportunities in terms of internships, Events, Guest Lectures, Placements, Foreign Exchange and many other things. The opportunities this college provide its students to grow professionally is another thing I love about NALSAR.
Dislikes
- There is literally nothing to dislike about in NALSAR but if I have to name a few, the first would be the competition. By its very structure, NALSAR can get pretty competitive at times, with ranks being very important, the competition can be rolling on people’s mental health.
- The second thing would be the toxicity, I think this is common in all colleges, but NALSAR also gets very toxic sometimes, especially during the SBC Elections. There’s a horrible Cancel culture that is very prevalent as well.
Remarks :
NALSAR University of Law is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country with the highest NAAC Accreditation amongst all Law Schools in India and is constantly ranked in the top 3 Law schools in the country. Admissions into NALSAR occur through CLAT or the Common Law Entrance Test, which is a JEE/NEET style entrance for 22 National Law Universities including NALSAR. An All India Rank of under 200 is necessary for candidates without any reservations to be eligible to join NALSAR. While the cutoff does vary every year, a rank of 200 or below is generally enough.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The 5-year B.A.LL.B (Hons.) course opens up work opportunities in the Corporate law sector while also enabling one to be a practitioner and also opens up doors for further studies through an LLM. This course is very well structured, intense at times, and pretty easy at times. The exams are conducted on a strict schedule but the schedule is not very demanding, the semesters are spread out over 4 months, with festivals and parties, and events in between. The fee hike is very minimal (10k per year) and Financial assistance is available for students from backward communities and also for students from EWS families.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships through the college are offered in the 3rd/4th years. Firms include Khaitan, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, AZB, Boston Consultancy Group, Herbert Smith Freehills etc. The role of a corporate law intern is pretty standard across, it involves lots and lots of research, a little bit of drafting and sitting in meetings.
Placement Experience :
All students who have passed all courses at the time of the Placements are eligible for placements. The college has had a 100% placement record since like forever. The average package is 15LPA with a few students getting up to 40LPA. All top-tier law firms visit the campus for placements and almost all top-tier firms give internships to students through the Internship Coordination Committee. Almost 30 students get offered Pre-Placement Offers by the firms, while the rest get placed through placements. I would like to get a PPO in my fourth year, so I can have time to decide whether or not I want to be a corporate lawyer. UPSC is another option that I’m looking at, NALSAR also provides a solid foundation for that too.
Campus Life :
The college has a LOT of Fests. We have the College Fest which is the biggest fest, Carpediem in April, Telugu Fest in March, Southie Fest in March, East Fest in March, Lohri Fest in January, and Winnow(Management Fest) in February. We also have Awadh Magadh in August, Rajasthani Fest in September, West Fest in September and we also have a freshers Party in July and the infamous April party in April. The students run an elected body called the Student Bar Council, with various committees including the cultural and fine arts committee, sports committee, Mess committee, etc. Food in the mess is quite decent and there are 4 decent eateries on campus. Off late many new Hotels, Restaurants have come up near campus as well. All students must stay on campus (residential). The campus life is very very happening, it’s the wild Wild West here but also there’s a very good peer interaction culture, very helpful seniors, and overall great life.

From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.

Placement Experience :
Since I am still a student I haven't gone through the final placement season yet. But from what I have seen the college starts preparing us quite early. We have regular coding sessions, aptitude training, mock interviews and resume building workshops. The placement team also shared internship opportunities whenever they are available. I feel the college is more focused on making students job ready than waiting until the final year. If you stay consistent with your coding, projects and overall skills, you will be in a much better position when placement season starts. Overall I think the college provides good support, but students also need to put in their own effort.

As a current student I haven't reached the final placement season yet but the college has already started preparing us. We get regular updates about internship opportunities, and many students apply from the early semester itself. Along with that there are sessions on resume writing, aptitude, communication skills and interview preparation. The college also encourages us to build projects and improve our technical skills, which helps while applying for internships. I feel these small efforts throughout the course will make a big difference when placements begun.

One important thing I like about the course is that it isn't only about reading books and writing exams. We get to practice what we learn through coding, assignments, and small projects, which makes the subject easier to understand. The syllabus also covers topics that are useful for todays tech industry. The faculty is friendly and easy to talk to. They explain concepts in a simple way, clear doubts without any hesitation, and we are already ready to help if someone is struggling.

My experience at NIAT
Placement Experience :
NIAT is a relatively new institute the first batch hasn't graduated yet, so there isn't any official placement record available. However the college has done a good job of preparing students through practical learning, coding and real world projects. Many students have already secured internships from the first year itself which gives them valuable industry experience. Along with technical skills the college also provides guidance for resume building and interviews, making students feel more confident about future placement opportunities.

Placement Experience :
Eligibility is that we must maintain atleast 60-70% aggregate overall without any active backlogs. Recruiters are Infosys, TCS, Wipro, AWS etc. Total no. of offers made: All branches combined get 700-1100+ offers. Highest package is 52 lpa offered by AWS, and average package is about 6 lpa. About 60% students get placements. After getting my degree, I intend to get a good job in campus placements in companies like AWS, and go towards VLSI field
