- The college and all the surroundings are really awesome. you can have a really good campus life. There are a lot of spaces for you to sit around with your friends.
- The infrastructure of the college is really good too.
Dislikes
- Computer Science faculties are not exactly friendly.
- You would have to focus on specific few things, you won't have the time to go into many things at once.
Remarks :
Overall TKM Engineering College, Kollam is one of the best colleges in India. You will get a chance to pursue your interests inside the college (other than academics too). The overall infrastructure of the college is pretty good. There is nothing bad in particular about this college but by this year onwards the college has become academically autonomous and the students and faculties are still getting used to the hectic schedule. I got a seat in this college based on keam rank and higher secondary school percentage (including both +1 and +2). The cut-off varies each year and for each department, it would be better to analyze the previous year's cutoffs before selecting the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose computer science engineering because of my interest in coding and related stuff. From this year onwards the TKMCE, Kollam (TKM College of Engineering) has adopted academic autonomy which would be helpful in the long run. So we do not follow the traditional KTU curriculum which is a good thing since the new curriculum focuses on the development of an engineer not just getting a degree. The teaching method is really good and there are a total of eight semesters throughout four years during each semester there are two exams (the first exam is of the first half portion of the semester second exam with the second half portion) apart from the end semester exam(includes the whole syllabus). The semester can be categorized into even semesters and odd semesters (unofficially). The odd semester focuses on academics and the even semester focuses on cultures, sports, and other events alongside academics. For people entering through state merit tuition fees are around 12000 rupees/semester.
Internships Opportunities :
I haven't opted for any internship opportunities yet. Yet there are a lot of internship opportunities all around the college. The first years can also opt for internships. There are a lot of opportunities to work on various opportunities too.
Placement Experience :
Placements and job opportunities are all around in TKM College of Engineering. Students are required to clear all the semesters without supply to sit in the placement cell. There are a lot of visited recruiters and offers made by various companies in TKMCE. The highest package last year was 15 lakhs and the average is around 7 lakhs. In the computer science engineering department, there was a 100% placement last year. For me, I plan to become a developer after graduation in the web3 field or A cyber security officer.
Campus Life :
There are many fests conducted in TKMCE. Hestia is the main technical fest of the college. There are also other events like cultural and sports events. All these events are conducted during even semester. There are all the necessary amenities in the classroom including projectors. There are various books available in the library for student usage, they are free for a small time duration. The sports events are conducted year-wise and culture department wise. All the events are conducted by the students themselves without any serious interference from faculties. All the clubs are also operated by students themselves. There are different hostels for first, second then third and fourth years. The international hostel for boys for all the years. Food for all the college hostels is supplied by the same catering service. The food is mostly alright but not perfect every time though.

The eligibility according to our teachers is that we have to get the 7.5 above CGPA and the number of companies that have visited and recruited are TCS Wipro et cetera and the highest package will be to 7 and lowest will be 2 lakh my plan after the degrees that I will opt for higher studies and specialised in some specific course like Java and will look for the companies like that

college provide best on their placements , as a part of making college to be best at the era . principal told to our batch that they will provide 50% of placements , i am glad to be in this batch because sometimes i may get a college placement to make an expirence for the future jobs

Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.

I choose this course because i have a strong interest in history and understanding past events,and culture and their impact on the present.the course curriculam is well structured and covers both core elective subjects,giving a balanced understanding of historical concepts.

There are few placement opportunities like infosys but we can't opt for high salary paying jobs.I am planning to complete mtech after graduating btech.There are many students with jobs from college selection but I don't like many jobs from college as per their salary

Most of the faculties are bds or mds graduated and well knowledged. Classes are mainly powerpoint presentation based and seminars. There are 2 internals and one model examination based on which qualification for university exam is determined.

I love zoology.. I want to build my career on this subject. My faculty has phd.. She teaches well.. I could understand all concepts very easily. There are internal exams. I am studying four year fyugp course. So there is only one internal. And then there is sem exms at last. If u study well u could score good marks. Little difficulty
