Also known as Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering, TKM College of Engineering Kollam was established in 1958. The college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. AICTE approved, the college is also NBA and NAAC Grade A accredited. TKMCE Kollam admissions are both merit based and entrance based.

TKMCE Kollam offers BTech in seven specialisations. For admission to this program, the candidate should have cleared 10+2 with 45%, with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects. Selection is based on 10+2 scores and KEAM scores, followed by counselling. The total fees for this four-year, full time program is Rs 33,640.
Besides BTech, TKMCE Kollam courses include MTech, BArch, MArch, MCA and PhD.

TKMCE Kollam grants scholarships to students, based on various criteria. Children of fishermen and other alliances are granted scholarships by the Department of Fisheries. Meritorious students, with an annual income of less than INR 2.5 LPA, are awarded scholarships. The Indian Oil Corporation grants scholarships to students wanting to pursue professional courses at TKMCE Kollam. Students from, or residing in Lakshadweep are granted scholarships, as well.

TKMCE Kollam Placements 2024 witnessed 601 jobs being offered to students. The average CTC was recorded at INR 5.19 LPA. Around 87 companies scouted the campus for young workforce, including L&T, Federal Bank, IBM, Cognizant, Yatra, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tech Mahindra.
