The main reason for choosing Government Polytechnic Nashik for pursuing my diploma in Computer Technology is that it is a Government institute and the other is that I have heard about this college a lot. I think having a diploma in Government college will help for secure a good college for an engineering (degree). There were not any group discussions, interviews or written tests for admission. The process of admission was purely based on merit. The cut-off for the Computer Department was 93%tile. Don't know about the other departments.
The reason for taking a Computer Technology diploma as it provides so much practical knowledge compared to 11th and 12th. I prefer practical knowledge over bookish knowledge, so I decided to do a diploma in Computer Technology rather than 11th and 12th. The percentage I mentioned above is my 10th-grade percentage.
I have not yet opted for an internship as I am currently in the second year of the course. The internship is provided through college for the students in the third year. Through college, the students get internships in various companies or workshops.
After completing this course, I have planned to pursue Bachelors degree in Technology(B.tech) in computer science from a good college in Pune. And then I will try my best to get a job in campus selection.
There is only one event "Spandan" organized by the college in January every year. All the other events are organized by the students' association led by the president. There is quite a big library which has all the books & journals which a student can read and can study from. The process of taking books is quite simple. There is not a single facility for sports on the whole college campus. There are student associations for every department that conduct small events throughout the year. The main college website is run by senior students of the college. I currently live at the hostel which is present on the college campus itself. The menu of the mess is not that good same as the food quality. Nevertheless, the hostel is very affordable, just? 1500 for one year. The registration process for the hostel was very simple as everything was online.
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
