College was among the top 10 NITs. NIRF ranking was under 45 at that time. The placement was very decent. So basically it was a very decent choice at my time of admission for my jee mains rank (which was around 44000 ). There were no Group Discussions or interviews for admission. The admission criteria here are only based on Jee Mains's rank and above 75% or equivalent marks in 12th. A good aspect of my college is its location as it is between Chandigarh and Delhi. Tourist locations are near our college city. The campus is very beautiful with full of greenery. The bad aspect of my college is that its NIRF is falling every year. Placements are getting poor. Here management is very egoistic and careless and doesn't listen to students. Management has full authority over everything and students have no power except listening to the management without any condition.
I had chosen this course because at my rank this was only a choice for me to choose. But this was not a bad choice. The faculty here are very well qualified and kind except for a few who are very cruel and strict to students. There is no relative marking in exams like other colleges so you have to maintain CGPA by yourself. There are two mid-semester exams (called internal) and one end-semester exam ( called external ) every semester. You have to get 20 marks out of 50 marks in each internal as well as external exam because 40% is the passing mark here. The tuition fee structure here is the same as all other NITs i.e. - 62500rs. Per semester for income above 5 lacs, 20000rs. Per semester for income between 1-5 lacs and 0 for income below 1 lacs. All other fees like library, medical, exam, seat rent etc. are paid by everyone whatever the income category.
Placements and internships here are decent. Till the 2023 batch, the placement was very good but last year for the batch of 2024 placement stats were horrible and the same was true for internships. The placement drive starts on 1 day of the final year and ends after the last day of the final year. Internship opportunities here are average as you have to try on your own for internships. But in placements college helps to some extent. The highest package last year was 61 lacs per annum. Major recruiters were TCS, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Infosys, Tata Electronics, CNH etc. About 70 % of students got placed last year. The average package was about 9-10 lacs. I plan to get a decent job in a decent company just after completing my degree.
Campus life here is very good. Confluence ( cultural fest ) is held in October, Techspardha (technical fest) is held in March, and Citius (sports fest) is held in April every year. These fests make our campus life exciting. At the beginning of every semester, you can go to the book bank and collect every book of your curriculum for the whole semester and deposit them after the end of the semester. There are very good spaces in the library where one can go and study silently for the whole day and night. There are many clubs and societies (both cultural and technical) which organise workshops events and competitions as a part of extracurricular activities. The sports team here goes to different colleges in All India Inter NIT tournaments on college expenses. These clubs, societies and sports teams are run by students who are mostly led by final-year students. Hostels are good but the food is below average and costly `we have no choice as we are not allowed to eat outside when living in a hostel.
The Career Development Centre (CDC) plays an important role in preparing students for internships and future placements. The CDC conducts career guidance sessions, skill development workshops, resume-building activities, aptitude training, and interview preparation programs to improve students' employability. One initiative that I personally found beneficial was the Internship Fair organized by the university. It provided students with an opportunity to interact with different organizations and apply for summer internships, helping us gain practical industry exposure before entering the final placement season. Such initiatives allow students to build professional experience and develop workplace skills at an early stage.
The employability is very good and placements are also very good trainers and campus placement cell is highly supportive and companies are arrives regularly on every year basis and growth prospects are very good for the students
All the Management persons and all Faculties and Heads and Working persons , even the Housekeeping and our Seniors all are very cooperative and helping and have a humble and polite nature. And I really appreciate them all and very thankful to all of them.
KRMU provides placement assistance through its Training and placement cell, which conducts aptitude training, mock interview, resume building sessions and skill development session to improve students employability. Student become eligible for campus placement in the final year subject meeting the criteria of the individual company. Eligible criteria include maintaining the CGPA, having limited or no active backlog, and fulfilling company specific criteria.
Placements are decent for skilled students with eligibility usually starting in the final year . Companies like TCS , Infosys ,BHEL visit the campus . The average package is around 4-6b LPA . After completing my B-tech degree , I plan to pursue a career in software development
Aroun 6.5-8 cgpa should be maintained to avail for placement. No backlogs. Respect teachers. Fee visited recruiters were ICICI ey pwc etc highest packaging where I heard about was 56LPA and average was around 9-12LPA.
Curriculum was very much reasonable and it was very much easy to understand it also had division of management studies and computer studies which made it very much easier for me to understand the faculty was amazing and very helpful
There is no certain eligibility criteria depends on the company and Many company comes all every year. Layi Blinkit, Zomato et cetera et cetera Also, there are separate departments for placement like CDC department
Currently i am perusing my PhD so not applicable for me and the placements i have seen is very impression companies are good like tcs, bain, lumenci, proedge and average package offered is 12 lpa. so i hope to get a good chance for myself and get a very good placement looking forward for the beat chance
Nice, faculty of my college is very cooperative and understanding. Helps students with their problems and explain concepts in an interactive and interesting way so that concepts should be understood in an easier way.
