I chose BITS Hyderabad because of it's excellent brand value and also the placements which are comparable to the top IITs. Regarding the admission process one needs to give an admission test called BITSAT which is held in May and June every year. Out of 130 questions, 30 questions are for Physics and Chemistry, 40 for Mathematics and 20 for Logical Reasoning and 10 for English Proficiency. The difficulty is slightly easier than JEE Mains but the time pressure is immense so I recommend to give a lot of mock tests to get an idea of how the exam is. To secure an admission, a score of 250 out of 390 is enough and for top branches a score of about 300 is required.
I chose MSc. Economics as I want to pursue a career in finance and also depending on the 1st year performance, you get a B. Tech degree which is a very nice feature at BITS. All the professors have a Doctorate degree and are therefore immensely qualified and actively publish high quality research papers. The teaching method is also good and we have several assessment components such as quizzes, assignments, group discussions and presentations along with the regular mid semester and comprehensive examinations which happen at the end of the semester. The difficulty level largely varies across the course but is not very difficult. The fee hike here is of about 10 to 15% every year and costs about 35 lakhs for 5 years. There are 2 types of scholarships available : merit scholarship which is provided to the top 3% of the batch and merit-cum-means which is provided to a substantial number of people who have an annual household income of under 15 lakhs per annum.
We have 2 compulsory internships as a part of the program, called Practice School. Practice School 1 happens during the summer break between 2nd and 3rd year and Practice School 2 happens in either the 7th or 8th semester for single degree students and during the entire 5th year for dual degree students, where several PPOs are given and average stipend is 50k. Many companies come for PS-2 such as Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, etc. Allotment of companies mainly happens through CGPA, although there are other factors such as branch and offshoots.
The placement opportunities are perhaps among the best in the country, several MNCs visit the campus such as Amazon, Google, Apple, Texas Instruments, GE, NVIDIA, etc. The highest package was 70 lakhs and the median is around 20 lakhs. Around 85% of the registered students got placed.
We have 3 major fests organised every year, a technical fest named ATMOS, an inter-college sports fest named ARENA and a cultural fest named PEARL. We also have a literary fest named Verba Maximus. The library hosts a large number of books of all genres and journals. The classrooms have a recording facility so you can see the recording in case you miss a class. There is a dedicated ground for every sport such as cricket, football, hockey, tennis, basketball, volleyball and also indoor sports such as table tennis, billiards, chess, carrom and squash. We also have a large swimming pool. The college has a department named SWD or the Student's Welfare Department which looks addresses the needs of the students residing and also several technical clubs.
There are 2 mess inside the college, which provide decent food and also there are several food joints in the campus. We are allotted a hostel on the day of reporting and has all the required facilities. Till the 2nd year we need to stay in a double sharing room.
Placements and internships are very good in the college and the way placement training cell is very good at teaching and placement are medium in college.overall the placements in the college are very good.
Many of our senior got placed and many of our seniors got the intership oportunitys also Highest package is 12 lpa and the lowest is 4 lpa My plans after completion of degree is not going to software side because I want to track a govt job
The campus placements are good and there are companies coming in every year for fresh talent but it all comes down to our talent. We are provided with an opportunity but we have to work for it ourselves.
Placements and Internships The placement opportunities at my college are average, with a limited number of companies visiting the campus every year. Students who maintain a good academic record and possess strong technical and communication skills have better chances of getting placed. Generally, students with no active backlogs and a minimum academic percentage as specified by the recruiting company are eligible to participate in campus placements. A few recruiters visit the college for hiring, mainly for entry-level roles in software, IT support, and core engineering domains. However, the number of offers is limited, and only around 40–50% of students secure campus placements. The average salary package offered ranges from ?3–4 LPA, while the highest package varies depending on the company and the student's performance. The college also encourages students to apply for paid internships, which help them gain practical industry experience and improve their technical skills
I am still in my second year, so I havent sat for placements yet. But the college starts preparing us early with coding practice, projects, aptitude training, resume building sessions, and mock interviews. FRom interacting with seniors, I have heard that students who stay consistent with their skills get good opportunities
From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.
Placement and job opportunities are good recently recruiters came to our clg and many students got an opportunity to showcase their talent and some got selected to interviews as well this year the highest package was 8lpa and the percentage of students getting placement are around 60-70% with self work too
Our college is nice and also I am getting know how to get and I got it know the course is the best and . faculty is nice and they are teaching well . Ia m under standing all subjects and asking questions on it.
Noo internships are available at our college.onlyy academic wise it is good Always asks to do certifications.crt helps us in the placements wise.for now we didn't placed in the college placements.eligibility is based on the company's visiting the campus.
There will be fewer placements right after completing BBA. One must pursue an MBA to get a proper placement but still, JNTU attracts companies like TCS, Infosys, HDFC banks etc. Student with a minimum of 7 GPA and no backlogs can attend the drives
