Founded in 2009, the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam is a member of the Consortium of NLU’s established across India. The university is recognised by the UGC, AIU and by the BCI. NLUJAA offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses.
NLUJAA offers BA LLB (Hons), spanning across a duration of 5 years. For admission to this course, the candidate must complete 10+2 with 45%, along with a valid CLAT score. The intake for this course is 60 seats. Rs 1,52,000 is the fee for BA LLB (Hons).

NLUJAA Admissions 2025
Admissions to NLUJAA are based on the CLAT scores. For admission to BA LLB (Hons), the candidate should clear 10+2 with 45%, along with a valid CLAT Score. The CLAT Counselling follows after clearing the CLAT exam with merit scores. The candidates belonging to the Reserved Category must submit the required documents from the respective authorities to prove their reservation claim.
Admission to LLM is based on CLAT PG Scores. The candidate must have cleared LLB or BA LLB Hons with 55% marks, along with CLAT PG Scores. Specialisation under this course is offered in diverse streams like

- Legal Aid Clinic: NLUJAA has a legal aid clinic, on-campus, which stands as a source of guidance for those in need, offering pro bono services, legal consultations and resources to address diverse legal concerns.
- Moot Court: The Moot Court Hall is furnished with the latest technology, including audio-visual systems, digital libraries, and real-time transcription services, setting the stage for hosting national and international level moot courts.
- Mental and Physical Health Facilities: Keeping mental and physical health in mind, NLUJAA has a gymnasium, sports centre, meditation centre, health centre and counselling centre.
- Research Centres: There are 9 research centres on campus for students.
- Energy Conservation Measures: NLUJAA uses energy conservation measures like Sensor Based energy, Solar Energy, LED use and Wheeling to the Grid.

NLUJAA Hostels
NLUJAA has a provision of on-campus residence for its students. There is a hostel for both boys and girls, each. The rooms are allotted on the basis of single and double occupancy. Male and female security guards at both hostels ensure student safety, at all times. The hostel has provisions like:

NLUJAA Scholarships
NLUJAA has envisaged a “Merit Cum Means Scholarship” to support and provide financial aid to students from an Economically Backward Section of society. The aim is to ensure that the students achieve their academic aspirations, without being affected by their financial condition.
Students of 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th year of BA LLB (Hons), whose family income is less than Rs 8 Lakhs, are granted scholarships.
The scholarship is given to students belonging to three categories.

Students can apply for scholarships at NLUJAA. Once the documents are submitted in the prescribed format, the Screening Committee will scrutinise the applications. Following this, they will release a list of category wise scholarship awardees, with the quantum of scholarship per awardee. The committee holds the right to interview to aid the screening process. All of this is done with a justification to the Vice Chancellor.
