PSSOU Admission

PSSOU conducts entrance tests for B.Ed, D.El.Ed and PhD admissions. Selection is made on merit.

Entrance Exam:
For B.Ed and D.El.Ed, admission is through the PSSOU B.Ed Entrance Exam.
For PhD, admission is through UGC NET/JRF/SET or the PSSOU PhD Entrance Exam, also called PRET.
Syllabus:
- B.Ed and D.El.Ed: General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning and Subject Knowledge.
- PhD: Research Methodology and topics from the chosen subject area.
Result and Admission: Results are published at https://www.pssou.ac.in. Shortlisted students then attend counselling and document verification.

PSSOU Admission Courses

PSSOU offers UG courses in distance education mode, including BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BCA, BLIS and B.Ed.

Duration: 3 Years
Special Cases:
BLIS: 1 Year
B.Ed: 2 Years and entrance qualification is needed.
Admission Basis: Merit, using 10+2 marks for UG courses.

At the PG level, the university offers MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MCA, MLIS and MBA. It also offers PG diploma and certificate courses in different fields.

Duration: 2 Years
Special Case: MLIS is a 1 Year course.
Admission Basis: Merit, using undergraduate marks.

PG diploma and certificate courses are also available in areas such as journalism, computer application, environmental studies and rural development. These courses are meant to support professional skills and job readiness.

Registration Fee: INR 1000, including counselling.

How to Check PSSOU Admission Status?

Students can check their PSSOU admission status through these steps:

Visit https://pssou.net.
Choose “Check Admission Status” under Online Services.
Log in with the Application ID or Registered Mobile Number.
The Admission Status and Fee Payment Status will appear on the dashboard.
If the dashboard shows 'Pending Fee', the fee can be paid through the same portal.

Notes

Students should keep a copy of the admission form and payment receipt.

PSSOU Admission Re-Registration

Re-registration is required for students who want to continue their programme further.

Purpose: It helps students continue their studies if they missed exams or crossed the official programme duration, so that they can reduce credit loss.
Eligibility: Students must have active enrollment and an incomplete programme or backlog.
Application Dates:
