Kalinga University Admission Dates 2026

Kalinga University admissions for 2026-27 are in their last phase. KALSEE, or Kalinga Scholastic Entrance Examination, is used for engineering, sciences, pharmacy, law, and arts courses. KAL-MAT, or Kalinga Management Aptitude Test, is used for BBA and MBA. Both exams are held at the university test centres and do not have negative marking.

Kalinga University Courses and Fees

Kalinga University offers over 130 programmes through 8 faculties: Engineering and Technology, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Science, Commerce, Arts and Humanities, and Design. For the full UG course duration, the fee starts at INR 1.69 Lakhs for B.Com and goes up to INR 6.21 Lakhs for B.Tech AI and ML.

The course list also includes MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management, B.Tech in AI and ML, integrated fashion design courses, and vocational programmes. Students who hold a Diploma in Pharmacy can apply for lateral entry to B.Pharm.

Kalinga University Admission Process

Kalinga University manages admissions through a central admission cell. Engineering, management, pharmacy, and general UG courses follow separate admission routes. The university uses its own entrance tests along with national exam scores, which helps students who have not taken exams such as JEE Main or CAT.

B.Tech Admission

For B.Tech, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 45% aggregate. SC/ST students need 40%. Applicants can use JEE Main or CUET UG scores, or they can take KALSEE at the Kalinga University test centre.

MBA Admission

MBA applicants must have a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate. A valid KAL-MAT, CAT, MAT, or XAT score is required. KAL-MAT applicants do not have to attend a compulsory GD-PI round, but MBA seats are offered through merit-based shortlisting.

BBA, BCA, B.Com, BA, and B.Sc

Most UG courses in commerce, arts, science, and computing admit students on the basis of Class 12 marks. The minimum requirement is 45% in the relevant stream. KALSEE scores are accepted for these courses, but they are not compulsory. Admissions continue on a rolling basis during the season.

B.Pharm Admission

For B.Pharm, students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with at least 45% aggregate. KALSEE and CUET UG scores are accepted. D.Pharm holders can enter directly into the 2nd year through lateral entry. The B.Pharm course has PCI approval.

Integrated Law (5-Year LLB)

BA LLB and BBA LLB applicants need at least 45% in 10+2 from any stream. They also come under the Bar Council of India age limit of 20 years, or 22 years for SC/ST students. KALSEE and CLAT scores are accepted. The School of Law has its own moot court facility on campus.

Kalinga University Placements

Kalinga University placements are handled by the Career and Corporate Resource Centre (CCRC). In 2024, 1,002 students were placed out of 1,468 eligible graduates, giving a placement rate of 68.2%. The median salary was INR 6 LPA for 4-year UG graduates and INR 5.9 LPA for 2-year PG graduates. The highest offer reached INR 12 LPA. More than 400 recruitment partners are registered with the CCRC.

Recruitment mainly comes from banking and finance, IT services, FMCG and retail, infrastructure, and pharma. Recruiters such as NTPC and Adani Group also show the link between the university and the industrial area around Naya Raipur’s Smart City corridor.

Among B.Tech students, CSE and AI/ML graduates receive the strongest offers. MBA students from Business Analytics and Healthcare Management are recruited by consulting and pharma companies. Pharmacy students get roles in pharma manufacturing and quality control.

Kalinga University Rankings

Kalinga University is listed in the NIRF 101 to 150 band under the University category for 2025. The university has remained in this band since 2022. For a young private university in Chhattisgarh, this ranking reflects its academic programmes and research work.

Kalinga University also has NAAC B+ accreditation from 2021, and its MBA programme has NBA accreditation. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognises it as a SIRO, or Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, for its research capacity.

Kalinga University Scholarships

Kalinga University offers nine scholarship categories for merit, sports, social causes, research, and sibling benefits. Since it started, the university has given more than INR 3 Crores in scholarships to over 5,000 students. Scholarships apply only to tuition fees and cannot be combined with another scholarship.

The top 10 Class 12 board rankers from Chhattisgarh can get a 100% tuition fee waiver. Scholarship seats are limited, allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, and renewed every year according to academic performance.

Kalinga University Campus and Infrastructure

Kalinga University has a campus of more than 50 acres at Kotni in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It is close to the State Mantralaya and lies within the planned Smart City zone. The campus has solar-powered facilities, 100+ advanced laboratories, smart classrooms, a central library, and a central instrumentation facility started in 2020.

Students also get an indoor sports complex, cricket ground, and fitness centre. The School of Law has a moot court, while Mass Communication students use a media production facility. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. Annual hostel fees range from INR 0.82 to 2.16 Lakhs for boys and INR 0.78 to 2.86 Lakhs for girls, based on the type of accommodation.

The university has set up 7 Centres of Excellence. It also has more than 650 international students from 33 countries, giving it a wider student mix among private universities in Chhattisgarh. The campus is connected to Raipur’s public transport network, and Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur makes travel easier for students from other states.

Kalinga University vs ITM University Raipur vs KK Modi University Bhilai

Kalinga University, ITM University Raipur, and KK Modi University Bhilai are private universities in Chhattisgarh. Students often compare them for B.Tech, MBA, and other UG courses. The table below lists the main points that can affect a student’s choice.

Kalinga University has a stronger NIRF position and a higher placement median than the other two universities in this comparison. ITM University Raipur has a slightly lower B.Tech fee range and started one year earlier. KK Modi University Bhilai is the newest institution here and has not received NAAC accreditation yet, though its fee range remains competitive. Students who want more research exposure and an international campus environment may prefer Kalinga University.
