RRU uses its computer-based Common Entrance Test, called RCET, for admission to most undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. B.Tech Cyber Security applicants may use either an RCET UG score or a valid JEE Main score. The selection requirements depend on the programme level and the applicant’s earlier qualification.
| Programme | Entrance Exam | Admission Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech (Cyber Security) | RCET UG / JEE Main | A JEE Main score is also accepted for admission. |
| B.Tech (Defence Technology, Electronics/VLSI) | RCET UG | Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory in 10+2. |
| All other UG programmes | RCET UG | Applicants need a 50% aggregate in 10+2. |

| Ph.D. | RCET PhD | Applicants need a postgraduate degree and a research proposal. |
RCET UG tests domain knowledge, reasoning and general awareness, with questions linked to defence and security. The university gives admission preference in selected programmes to wards of police, intelligence, defence and paramilitary personnel, including members of CRPF, BSF, CISF, NSG and SSB families, according to its admission policy.
The undergraduate admission stages are:
RCET PG scores decide postgraduate admission, and applicants must hold the undergraduate degree required for their chosen subject. M.Tech courses accept a relevant B.Tech or B.E. qualification. M.Sc Forensic Science and M.Sc Criminology require a B.Sc from a science stream. Applicants to MA courses need an undergraduate degree with a relevant academic background.
A Ph.D. applicant must have a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks, qualify through RCET PhD and submit a research proposal with the application. Doctoral subjects include Cyber Security, Criminology, Forensic Science, Defence Studies, Disaster Management, IT and Behavioural Sciences.

i choose this course as i wanted btech in computer science since there was specializatioin in cybersecurity it was just slightly better. the curriculum is good as in first year there is no need to study chemistry physics etc again after 12th the directly start with the engineering curriculum. most of the faculty here is on contract there is very less permanent faculty. there are assisstant professors only. the thing is the btech administratoin is wha i would say about as i know works totally on sucking up to the highers nepotism and gujarat dominated and the qualification is not up to the mark obv not talking about every faculty. teaching methods are not good either.
only 3 words for placement masss recruitment only. No support from college for internship opportunities. TIPO is arrogant with companies thats why there are less companies that come back next yr for recruitment for btech only. you can carry out off campus internship only after reaching 3rd yr.
Read Full ReviewCourse curriculum is overall good with satisfying study plans with perfectly scheduled lecture timings.Course curriculum is bifurcated nicely and the core for cyber security starts after the 5th semester.
Placement and job opportunities for my course are really good as computer science engineering and specialization in cyber security opens a wide range of jobs and internships opportunities for the students.
Read Full ReviewThe faculties here are best in their business and mostly are either PhD or pursuing PhD. The course curriculum are well designed and very unique. Here you can have variety of courses in various streams.
Here some colleges give more than 90% placement and you can secure job here. There is no eligibility criteria for placement almost every one who secure degree here can be placed. The highest average package is around 800000
Read Full ReviewI Personally Chose this course as I am a defence Aspirant and the university is totally dedicated to the field of national security which makes it one of a kind in the whole nation, the faculty here are highly specialised in their specific fields and the exams are conducted semester wise
The University became central university under the ministry of Home affairs in 2020 since then the university have grown at a par pace, the placement opportunities here are in the field of government organisation working in the field of national security, think tanks, private and corporate security agencies, etc.
Read Full ReviewThe course and curriculum purely different here u should able to gain knowledge as industry demand and in the 1 year u should able to learn dsa and two languages I.e c ans c++,every 7 months end sem is conducted with at least 59% passing marks
For placement The college is slightly wear but if u have talented u have chance to work with the govt agencies and last year one student got 75k internship from salesforce in campus which is great thing
Read Full ReviewFaculty here are very experienced and there is a good exposure in practical terms Examination system is also good as there are only End term exams and rest internal assessment by small activities like presentation or assignments.
I choose it because it is a national university and comes under ministry of home affairs Written exam was conducted for admission that was online from home . This university provides almost all kind of facilities needed fir career growth
Read Full ReviewThe course curriculum provided for the course is very unique and helps to make you aware of current affairs, it discusses international relations, foreign policy, defence acquisition, Intelligence and many interesting subjects.
Different departments have Different placement opportunities. RRU has tie-ups with CLAWS, Think tanks, CAPS, VEDANTA, G4S, Adani ports & Adani Enterprises Limited, Blue Dart, C-DAC, CyberEQ, Gujarat Police, TCS, Wipro and many more. The placements are given according to the capabilities and contribution of the students in academics.
Read Full ReviewThe faculties are mostly good but very few of them are PhD holders. They may be biased towards the Gujarati students. The course curriculum is fairly new and different from other typical engineering colleges which is a pro. But the way the examinations are conducted is very ill-managed as the syllabus and schedule are notified just 2 or 3 days before the exam which is a huge con.
Students have to take up internships on their own. College does not help much in providing students the internships. They provide 2 months internship break in each academic year, which can be taken at in anytime of the year. But the students have to come back to take their mid and final-semester exams.
Read Full ReviewThe students who need scholarship they can get scholarship in the family background basis. The curriculum is very focused on both they based and practical based so it's very beneficial. The faculties are also very qualified and very helpfull.
The placement opportunities are also good. The college provide various oppertunity to work with esteemed organization like NI, CBI, CID, CFSL, SFSL, SFSL, PRISON these are only internship and for placement like Relience, Adani, TCS, Infosys, Vedanta and many more.
Read Full ReviewFaculties are well qualified but not for the course I'm persuing. Sometimes the y couldn't even understand what they are teaching. Teaching has to be done on practical ground and examples. Exams are done by the end of semester and internal tests are taken by the concerned faculty of the subject. Difficulty level of exams is moderate and lengthy. A chance to grab a opportunity of scholarship should be provided to all through an examination so the smarter one can get the benefit of Financial assistance through that.
Currently there are no direct placements but the departments are trying at there best so that students can get a job that will support them financially to become stable. I'm planning to appear for CDS examination after my graduation, that is my main Aim to get into Armed Forces. Masters students get opportunity to work under various Think Tanks and get to know more about the field academically, practically, etc.
