SNDT Admission Dates 2026

SNDT Women’s University is processing regular admissions for the 2026-27 session. CUET-UG scores or merit are used for most undergraduate arts, commerce, and science courses. Professional programmes follow the relevant state-level entrance and counselling processes.

SNDT Courses and Fees

SNDT Women’s University runs courses in arts, commerce, science, technology, health sciences, education, law, design, and social work. The amounts below are total programme fees for students admitted through the general quota.

Skill-based B.Voc choices include Fashion Design at INR 2,57,660, Interior Design at INR 2,42,660, and Jewellery Design at INR 2,60,660. SNDT Women’s University is the only institution offering these degrees in the Mumbai region.

SNDT Admission Process

Only women can apply to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at SNDT Women’s University. Course type determines the selection method. Many general UG courses consider CUET-UG or qualifying-exam merit, while state common entrance tests are required for several professional degrees.

B.Tech Admissions

All B.Tech seats are filled through the Maharashtra state CAP process.

• Applicants need Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2, with at least 45% marks. The minimum is 40% for reserved categories.
• Candidates must take the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics paper of MHT-CET.
• MHT-CET scores are used during CAP Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 through the Maharashtra State CET Cell portal.
• The six available branches are CSE, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Information Technology.

MBA and MMS Admissions

The Maharashtra CET Cell manages MBA and MMS admission through the state MBA/MMS CAP system.

• A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% is required. Reserved-category applicants need 45%.
• Accepted tests are MAH-MBA/MMS-CET, CMAT, MAT, and GMAT.
• Selection includes entrance-score shortlisting, a Group Discussion, a Personal Interview, and CAP allotment.
• MBA specialisations cover Finance, Human Resource Management, and Marketing Management.

UG Arts, Commerce, Science, and Professional Programmes

The university processes most undergraduate applications through its online portal, using either 10+2 merit or CUET-UG scores. Entrance tests and counselling apply to specified professional courses.

• BA, B.Com, B.Sc in basic sciences and Home Science: Applicants must pass 10+2. Selection through the university portal considers CUET-UG or merit.
• BCA: Students need Mathematics in 10+2. Admission is based on merit or CUET-UG.
• BMS and BSW: A 10+2 pass is required, and selection is merit-based.
• B.Sc Nursing: Candidates need PCB in 10+2 with 45%, a qualifying NEET-UG score, and participation in Maharashtra state nursing counselling.
• B.Pharm: Admission requires 10+2 with PCM or PCB and 45%, MHT-CET, and Maharashtra Pharmacy CAP participation.
• B.Des: A 10+2 pass and the design aptitude entrance test are required.
• B.Ed: Applicants need graduation with 50%, MAH B.Ed CET, and Maharashtra B.Ed CAP rounds.
• LLB and BBA+LLB: LLB requires graduation, while BBA+LLB requires 10+2. Both use MH-CET Law and Maharashtra Law CAP rounds.
• B.Voc programmes: Students who have passed 10+2 are selected through merit or a skills-based admission route.

PG Admissions

Graduation marks decide admission to most postgraduate courses. State or national entrance scores apply to professional programmes.

• MA, M.Com, MSW, M.Lib, MVA: Applicants need a relevant bachelor’s degree, and the university portal handles merit-based selection.
• MCA: A BCA or another bachelor’s degree with Mathematics is required. Candidates take MAH-MCA-CET and join the Maharashtra MCA CAP rounds.
• M.Tech: Applicants need a relevant B.Tech or BE degree. A GATE score is preferred.
• M.Pharm: Selection is based on institute-level merit after B.Pharm and a qualifying GPAT score.
• M.Sc Nursing: Applicants must hold a B.Sc Nursing degree and have at least two years of clinical experience.
• M.Ed: A B.Ed with 50% and the university entrance test are required.
• LLM: Candidates need an LLB with 55% and must take the university entrance test.

PhD Admissions

PhD applicants must have at least 55% in a relevant postgraduate degree. They must qualify in the SNDT Women’s University Research Entrance Test, called RET, or have a valid UGC-NET or GATE score. More than 30 disciplines are available across science, humanities, social sciences, home science, design, education, and health sciences.

SNDT Placements and Career Outcomes

Career options vary because SNDT Women’s University teaches fields ranging from technology and healthcare to arts, law, design, home science, and social work. Its Training and Placement Cell organises employer sessions, internship drives, workshops, and seminars throughout the year.

NIRF 2025 records show that 103 undergraduate students secured placements, with a median pay of INR 1.35 LPA. A large number of students from arts, home science, and social science courses move into postgraduate education, government work, or self-employment instead of taking campus jobs. Placement rates and salary ranges are higher for B.Tech, BCA, and MBA students because of demand in technology and management.

Departments for nutrition, food science, home science, and women’s studies maintain links with government health departments, research organisations, and international bodies involved in women’s development and nutrition policy.

SNDT Rankings

SNDT Women’s University submits information to NIRF each year, but it was not listed among the top 100 universities in the 2025 University Rankings. The Week placed it among India’s top 30 universities in both 2024 and 2023. The ranking results below are arranged from the newest year to the oldest.

SNDT Campus and Infrastructure

Five campuses make up SNDT Women’s University. Churchgate in South Mumbai is the main administrative campus and accommodates important faculties along with the university offices. Juhu in suburban Mumbai and Karve Road in Pune serve as the other main teaching centres. The university also operates smaller extension centres at Shrivardhan in Raigad district and Chandrapur in the Vidarbha region. This spread serves women from Maharashtra’s cities as well as less-served areas.

A dedicated Girls Hostel is available, with annual charges of up to INR 36,000. Campus facilities include specialised laboratories for nursing, pharmacy, food science, clinical laboratory technology, computer science, fashion, and textile design. Students across the campuses can also use the university library system for study and research.

SNDT marked its 111th year on Foundation Day, July 5, 2026. Its alumni work in education, healthcare, civil services, law, design, and social development. The university also has an active Innovation and Research Cell, which has received recognition through the NIRF Innovation rankings.

SNDT vs Sophia College Mumbai vs Mithibai College Mumbai

Women seeking undergraduate arts, science, or commerce education in Mumbai may compare SNDT Women’s University with Sophia College and Mithibai College. Their institutional structures differ. SNDT awards its own degrees and teaches courses from B.Tech through PhD, whereas Sophia and Mithibai are University of Mumbai affiliated colleges with smaller programme ranges.

Sophia College has a focused arts and humanities environment and a strong alumni presence in media and civil services. Mithibai College is a leading choice for commerce and science within the University of Mumbai system. SNDT has the widest course range of the three and is the only one offering degree programmes in B.Tech, MBA, pharmacy, nursing, social work, and design.
