JNVU Admission Process
JNVU follows different selection methods for different courses. Many UG and PG courses use merit lists, BE admission is handled through REAP, MBA uses CMAT with GD and PI, and law admission is based on the university merit process.
BA, BSc, BCom, and PG Programmes
For Arts, Science, Commerce, and related UG and PG subjects, JNVU does not ask for a national entrance exam. Students apply online, and the university prepares merit lists using Class 12 marks for UG courses and graduation marks for PG courses.
- Eligibility for UG: 10+2 in the relevant stream with at least 45% aggregate, or 40% for SC/ST candidates
- Eligibility for MA, MSc, and MCom: Relevant bachelor’s degree with at least 45%
- Selection: JNVU releases the merit list on the admission portal after applications close
- Process: Merit list, document check, fee payment, and admission confirmation
- The university conducts more than one merit list round if seats remain vacant
- Reservation: Rajasthan state reservation rules apply, including 10% horizontal reservation for EWS candidates
BE Admission via REAP
BE seats at MBM Engineering College are filled through the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process, called REAP. The Department of Technical Education conducts this process. JEE Main candidates get priority in the first merit pool, and students without JEE Main are considered through Class 12 PCM percentile in the second pool.
- Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology, with min 45%, or 40% for SC/ST
- Seat split: 85% seats are for Rajasthan domicile students and 15% are open to all-India candidates
- Process: REAP registration, choice filling, automatic allotment, and reporting at MBM Engineering College
MBA Admission
MBA admission at JNVU is based on CMAT. The Department of Business Administration shortlists students through CMAT scores and then conducts Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds on campus. A CMAT percentile of 65 or above is usually competitive for MBA shortlisting at JNVU.
- Eligibility: Any bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate, or 45% for SC/ST
- MBA Executive: Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% and relevant work experience
- Selection: CMAT score, then Group Discussion and Personal Interview at the JNVU campus
Law Programmes
JNVU does not use CLAT or any other national law entrance test for LLB admission. The university prepares its own merit list. Graduation marks are used for 3-year LLB, while Class 12 marks are used for BA.LLB and BBA.LLB.
- LLB eligibility: Any bachelor’s degree with minimum 45%, or 40% for SC/ST
- BA.LLB and BBA.LLB eligibility: 10+2 in any stream with minimum 45%, or 40% for SC/ST
JNVU Scholarships
JNVU does not run a separate university merit scholarship fund. Students can apply for central and Rajasthan government scholarships if they meet the category, income, and course rules.
