Teerthanker Mahaveer University Update
Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) conducts Admission 2026 for courses in medicine, dental, engineering, management, law, nursing and pharmacy on its 140-acre campus in Moradabad. MBBS admission is based on NEET UG counselling, while B.Tech admission can use JEE Main, CUET or Class 12 merit. The application fee is INR 1,000 for all programmes.
TMU has NMC approval for 250 MBBS seats, increased from 150 seats in 2024-25. The university is a Jain minority institution, so Jain students can get dedicated quota seats and scholarship benefits across eligible programmes.
Admission Update:
- MBBS and BDS: NEET UG 2026 was held on June 21. UPDGME UP state counselling is expected in August to October 2026 (Tentative).
- B.Tech: JEE Main and CUET 2026 are over. The TMU admission portal is accepting 2026-27 applications.
- MBA, BA LLB, and PG: Rolling admissions are open. Students can apply at admissions.tmu.ac.in.
- Application fee: INR 1,000 for every programme through online payment or demand draft.
- MBBS and BDS have Jain minority quota seats, and every quota seat is allotted only through UPDGME NEET UG counselling.
- MBA selection gives 80% weightage to the entrance exam score and 20% to the personal interview.
- For the 85% state quota in MBBS and BDS, UP domicile candidates get preference.

Management Quota at TMU (MBBS and BDS): TMU has 250 MBBS seats across state quota, management quota and Jain minority quota. Admission to all these categories is done only through UPDGME centralised NEET UG counselling. Students cannot take direct MBBS or BDS admission outside UPDGME.

TMU UG Admission 2026
At the UG level, TMU offers MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, BA LLB Hons, B.Sc Nursing and B.Pharm. Medical and dental seats are filled through NEET UG counselling, while engineering, law, nursing and pharmacy use the entrance or merit routes listed below.

TMU MBBS Admission Process 2026
TMU admits students to MBBS only on NEET UG merit. Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre has NMC approval for 250 MBBS seats in 2026-27, and its 920-bedded teaching hospital gives students clinical exposure from the first year.
- 85% state quota seats: UPDGME conducts allotment, with preference for UP domicile candidates.
- 15% All India Quota seats: MCC allots these seats through mcc.nic.in, and Indian candidates from all states can apply.
- Jain minority quota seats are part of the state pool for Jain community students, with a much lower cutoff than the General category.
- The 2025 General category closing rank for state quota Round 5 was 627,920.
- UPDGME usually conducts 4 to 5 rounds, including mop-up and stray vacancy rounds.
Key insight: Since TMU is a Jain minority institution, Jain students may get MBBS admission at a lower NEET rank. They should check Jain minority quota eligibility on the UPDGME portal before choice filling.
How to Apply for MBBS and BDS at TMU?
- Appear for and qualify NEET UG 2026.
- Register on UPDGME at upneet.gov.in when UP state quota counselling starts.
- Complete a separate MCC registration at mcc.nic.in for All India Quota counselling.

TMU B.Tech Admission Process 2026
B.Tech seats at TMU are available in CSE, IT, ECE, Mechanical, Civil and AI-related streams. The university does not hold a separate TMU entrance test for B.Tech.
- First preference is given to JEE Main 2026 All India Rank.
- CUET 2026 score is considered next.
- Students without JEE Main or CUET scores can be selected through Class 12 PCM percentage merit.
- JEE Main rank-based scholarships offer 20% to 90% tuition waiver.
- Class 12 merit scholarships offer 10% to 50% tuition waiver.
Note: Students with 90% or more in Class 12 can receive a 50% tuition waiver at TMU. Mark sheets must be submitted during admission document verification.

TMU Scholarships 2026

Scholarships are credited in even semesters and continue for the full course duration. Jain scholarships are approved after verification by the university committee.

Ques. Can students get TMU MBBS or BDS admission without NEET UG?
Ans. No. NEET UG is required for both MBBS and BDS at TMU. State quota, management quota and Jain minority quota seats are all filled through UPDGME and MCC counselling on the basis of NEET UG rank. Direct admission is not allowed without a valid NEET score.
Ques. What is the approved MBBS seat intake at TMU for 2026-27?

i opted for tmu moradabad mainly becouse for its affordable fee decent plecement opportunities addmision proceess - the admision at tmu is straightforward and doesn't any entrence exam, group discussion or personal interviews. admission is granted based on: 12 grade marks(45% to 50%) direct admission maximum students schorlship option based on merit and category(sc/st/obc) good aspects- affordable education, infrastructure,facilities all of many bad aspects-campus life( although the good , strict roles . ) limited industry exposure( it industries more focus) tmu moradabad is good choice for students locking for affordable fee scholarship option
