APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, formerly known as Kerala Technological University, was established in 2014 by the Government of Kerala. It is affiliated with the Government Engineering College (Idukki) and Government Model Engineering College (Kochi). It is recognized by UGC and AICTE. It offers UG, PG, and PhD courses in streams like Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, and Architecture. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Ranking by IIRF was 27th out of 30 colleges under the Architecture category in 2024.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University offers BTech as its flagship course. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% (40% in the case of reserved categories) in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The final selection will be based on the KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, Medical) entrance examination.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University also offers MTech courses. To be eligible for admission, candidates must complete BTech in relevant areas with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or at least 60% of the total score (55% for reserved categories). The final selection will be based on the GATE scores.
