Formerly known as Maya Group of Colleges, Maya Devi University was established in 2010. The university is approved by the MHRD, AICTE, UGC, BCI, NCTE, AIU, and INC. Additionally, MDU Dehradun is NAAC Accredited, as well. MDU Dehradun Admissions are based on entrances. Candidates can apply for admission via online, as well as offline mode.

MDU offers a 4-year BTech as its flagship program. The program is offered in 8 specialisations. The candidate should have cleared 10+2 with 45%. Physics, Chemistry and Maths should be mandatory subjects in 10+2. Candidates are selected based on their 10+2 scores, along with their JEE Mains/MDU Entrance Exam scores. MDU BTech fee ranges from Rs 4.47 Lakhs to Rs 7.68 Lakhs, based on the specialisation.

MDU Placements 2024 achieved 87.30% placements. The highest salary was offered at INR 43.6 LPA, while the average salary stood at INR 5.6 LPA. Scholarships at Maya Devi University Dehradun are granted based on various criteria. Scholarships are awarded based on the candidate’s MDUCET scores, and merit in the last qualifying examination. Scholarships are awarded to candidates scoring merit in National Level Entrance Tests like JEE, NEET, CAT, MAT, XAT, CLAT, NIFTEE, UCEED, and CMAT. The Social Responsibility Scholarship is granted to wards of defence personnel. The university grants scholarships on the basis of performance in sports, as well. Additionally, Maya Devi University grants Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Domicile Students of Uttrakhand as envisaged in the Uttrakhand Private Universities Act.
