The life at goa college of engineering

What I Liked

The college gives a lot of opportunities on personality development. The infrastructure is huge and calmful it is surrounded by trees and also an waterfall is available named as gec waterfalls, the faculty are kind and helpful it feels homely, the campus life is pretty good with a freedom to go anywhere.

What I didn’t like

The college is situated on a hill top and the college bus is not available mostly so we have to walk 1 km downhill to the bus stand which is very irritating.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always interested in mechanical engineering even though I was getting other good engineering seats in this college. Faculties are well qualified and most of them have done PhD in the respective course. The teaching is also good with good attention. The term exams were on time with regular internal test conducted every month before the term exams . The difficulty of the term exams are moderate the questions asked are applicative.

Remarks:

It is an best engineering college in Goa with better placements than other colleges in Goa the infrastructure is also huge and best these are the good aspects the bad aspect is that it is situated on a top hill and there are no regular buses to access. The only way to get admission in this college is through JEE (joint entrance exam) according to your jee percentile you get access to various branches. The cutt of is 60 percentile.

What I Liked

The nature around college cats and animals and the canteen
The availability of badminton court and sports facilities

What I didn’t like

No availability of drinking water for each department
Sometimes there are no water in the washroom

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester, you are eligible for internship and after that, you are eligible for placements. By the end of the 8th semester, companies start to approach for placements. Around 80 to 85% of students get placement. The rest of the students usually go for their own private work or private companies

Remarks:

The surroundings of the college, the nature of the college. The availability of sports and different types of programs College It has one of the best teachers and professors The admission process is easy. All you have to do is take an entrance exam and you get selected easily.

Best Engeneering college in the state with a students perspective

What I Liked

It has a large campus and it has a different building for different departments which make it open.
The faculties highly qualified and well experience to help students and give us practical as well as theoretical knowledge.
They are students from Nagaland North side and various parts of India and there is no criticism between students and all are friendly.

What I didn’t like

The canteen food is not so good and the tiny premises outside the canteen is not well maintained and not clean.
Due to the large campus if you want to travel from one building to other building it is a lot to work and you might need vehicle to go.
There is no proper bus stop near the college we have to walk for 3 to 4 km for the bus stop. The kadamba bus comes only two times at the college during the morning and evening. If you are left early or has to go late college you have to walk from the bus stop to the college.

Placement Experience:

The final-year students are eligible for the placement in the placement starting after the last semester begins. Each year 10 to 15 come to college interviews and around 62 to 65% get placed. They also provide company interviews in which have to go to the office of the specified company. The rest of the students are helped by the teachers to get placed.

Remarks:

Our college has a large campus and good faculty members it has different departments for different courses and to get admission you have to take the GCET exam. Our college takes the first preference so you have to be ranked under 2000 and the computer and IT courses are filled first. You can also join from the JEE exam.

Best Engineering college in Goa

What I Liked

I liked department buildings, greenary in the campus, labs in departments, very big library
Hostels are good and workshop rooms get to learn lots of things

What I didn’t like

Canteen is very unhygienic and food is also not that good.
Nothing as such overall best college in Goa

Placement Experience:

The highest package is 10lakhs and the lowest is 2.4lakhs. Companies like TCS, oneshield, Godrej, Siemens, etc come for recruitment. Placements are good for the Computer science and IT field compared to other departments. 50% of total students get placed.

Remarks:

One of the best engineering colleges in Goa and offers more placements as compared to other colleges in Goa and campus is the best the library, classes, departments, and labs are good and good infrastructure and faculty are nice.

What I Liked

There are separate building for each department that makes it very distinct.
There are auditorium in each dept and a lawn in the middle.

What I didn’t like

To much traveling to go from dept to canteen
Sometimes the faculty members are arrogant and rude

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had an interest in coding and operating systems. And in the hardware and software-based tech. Overall the course is good they also provide an honors degree. There are also scholarship programs for OBC, SC, ST, and generals depending on income.

Remarks:

It's the only government engineering college in Goa. Good infrastructure and campus and has a better placement than other colleges. Also, the fee structure is feasible. The admission is based on CET results. The admission is done on a round basis that is being held in the directorate of education Porvorim. The CS seats were full at 95 ranking in the general category. If we talk about the pros, good teaching environment and placements and helpful teachers.

Placement Experience:

The placements usually starts in the 7th semester but some students directly get Internship+placement offer in the sixth semester.There are many good companies coming in the college such as vedanta, Visteon etc which offers a very good package.The range of salary for placement varies from 300000 to 1500000. Also we also have a newly constructed placement cell so that Placements can be conducted without any disturbances.

Remarks:

This is the only college in Goa with a good campus and also various fields.As compared to other colleges this college has fields that no other college in Goa provides such as Vlsi and Electrical and Electronics.Also this is a Government College so the fee structure is comparatively lower.Also the faculty is experienced and the nature of students is very good.There is also a higher percentage of getting into campus placement in this college.

Goa college of engineering an experience

What I Liked

I liked my campus and people around. It is a college with great diversity and heritage as it is a government college. Every department has their own building and one will experience a great college life
There are many college fests where one can participate including their infra college fests. There are clubs which people can be a part of.

What I didn’t like

There is not much one can complain about. The infrastructure was a little old but new building have already been build and are functional now
The hostel life is good but you might face some problems with mess food. There are timings which you will have to follow accordingly.

Placement Experience:

Placement and job interviews are decent. There are a good number of companies coming for the comp it etc ene dept. the rest have limited options. One will have to try to enroll in their own also for the placements. The placement offers are decent enough.

Remarks:

I completed my schooling in Goa and got to know about the government exam for colleges in Goa GCET. Students write this exam to get enrolled and any of the engineering colleges in Goa. Goa College of Engineering is a government college which made me enroll in this college. The academics are good and lots of opportunities for cocurricular were also there. The placements are pretty great for the students. The college campus is big and has a lot of greenery.

Gec campus overview

What I Liked

Campus life and somes faculties and then obviously good friends

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure, i mean there is lot kg space available to build really good infrastructure

Placement Experience:

There are campus placements going on our campus but usually, those are not bug tech companies, Students here are self motivated to do something on their own, so some people don't go into the placement

Remarks:

I got the seat through the GCET exam, it was a moderate exam though but the college campus is good the only thing is that there are many exams going on so we usually don't get time for any other activities, that's something depressing
