HICAS Admission Dates 2026

HICAS has started the 2026-27 academic session for UG courses. UG selection is based on Class 12 merit. PG admissions follow graduation marks, while MBA and MCA admission is through entrance scores such as TANCET and MAT.

HICAS Courses and Fees

HICAS runs more than 91 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, and PhD levels. The fee details below show the total programme fee as per 2026 fee data.

At the UG level, the largest student demand is for Computer Science and related fields such as AI-ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, and IT. The MBA fee of INR 75,000 total for two years makes it one of the lowest-cost MBA options among autonomous colleges in Coimbatore. Students interested in design and animation careers can choose the B.Voc in Graphic Design, which has a total fee of INR 2.10 Lakhs.

HICAS Admission Process

HICAS follows merit-based admission for most UG and PG programmes. Entrance scores are needed mainly for MBA and MCA. Research admissions are handled as per Bharathiar University rules.

UG Admission (B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BCA)

For B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, and BCA, HICAS uses Class 12 marks for selection. Students do not have to take an entrance test. After the Tamil Nadu state board results are released in May, the college prepares merit lists for government quota and management quota seats.

• Eligibility: Passed 10+2 from a recognised board with the required subject combination
• For B.Sc (Science streams): Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology combination is required
• For B.Com, BBA: Any stream is accepted. Commerce or Mathematics is preferred but not compulsory
• Selection: Seat allotment depends on Class 12 aggregate marks and subject-wise merit

MBA and MCA Admission

For MBA admission, HICAS accepts TANCET, MAT, CMAT, or CAT scores. Applicants must have any graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. MCA admission needs a valid TANCET score, and the student must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject during graduation. MCA lateral entry into the third semester is open to BCA or B.Sc (CS/IT) graduates.

PG Admission (M.Sc / M.Com / MSW)

M.Sc, M.Com, and MSW seats are filled through marks in the qualifying graduation degree. These courses do not require an entrance exam. Eligibility changes by specialisation. For example, M.Sc (CS) needs B.Sc CS or an equivalent degree, while MSW accepts graduates from any stream. The college processes applications through its online portal in June to July.

M.Phil and PhD Admission

Bharathiar University controls M.Phil and PhD admission through its yearly notification. Applicants need a PG degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks. For PhD admission, students must qualify in the Bharathiar University Research Entrance Test (BURES) or have a valid NET/GATE score. HICAS offers research in eleven disciplines.

HICAS Placements

The HICAS placement cell manages campus recruitment for final-year UG and PG students. For recent batches, the college reports an average package of INR 3.5 LPA, while the highest package is INR 8.4 LPA. Students can take part in campus placement activities from the fourth semester onward.

Most placement activity comes from Computer Science, Information Technology, and B.Com (Computer Applications). Students from commerce, management, and science programmes also get opportunities in banking, insurance, FMCG, and government-sector routes through campus drives and competitive exams.

Confirmed recruiters at HICAS include IT companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, and Zoho Corporation. Banking and BFSI recruiters include Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. HICAS Scholarships

HICAS Campus and Infrastructure

HICAS is located on Avinashi Road at Udayampalayam in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The campus supports more than 91 programmes across several departments. It has computing labs for CS, IT, and allied subjects, along with science laboratories for Biotechnology, Microbiology, Physics, and Electronics. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. The boys' hostel fee ranges from INR 62,500 to 80,000 per year. The girls' hostel fee ranges from INR 55,000 to 1,20,000 per year, based on the room type.
