Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA) is an engineering college under the Punjab University. The college was ranked 3 for architecture by Outlook 2019. 

The college offers B.Arch and M.Arch degrees. 

Apart from the qualifying examination, shortlisted candidates have to go through a counseling process before securing their admission with the college. Interested candidates are recommended to qualify JEE Main or National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) for admissions into a 5-year B.Arch programme.

  • There are 40 seats available for B.Arch and 20 seats in M.Arch.
  • Among the 40 seats for B.Arch degree, 32 seats are reserved for Chandigarh quota, 6 for candidates outside Chandigarh and one each for Kashmiri Pandits and Kargil Martyr.
  • B.Arch degree is divided into two stages,
    • Stage 1 – (semester 1- semester 6), awarding the degree of Bachelor of Building Science. A university examination is held at the end of each semester.
    • Stage 2 – (semester 7 – semester 10) , awarding the degree of Bachelor of Architecture. A university examination is held at the end of each semester.
  • There is a 24 week practical training in any approved architectural firms/offices during the seventh semester.
  • About 50% of the students undergo their practical training in foreign countries.
  • In the final semester, students should undertake and complete a thesis project for the successful completion of the course.

  • The college does not offer any scholarships under the college rules. But, college offers all scholarship schemes instructed by the university rules.
  • According to university norms, CCA offers scholarships to eligibility and deserving students in every third and fifth year of their program.

Question: Does the college provide any other B.Tech/ dual degree courses other than B.Arch?

Answer: No. The college offers only undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in architecture. The college also does not offer any dual degree courses.

Question: Is there a doctoral department in the college?

Answer: No. As for now, there are only degree courses in the college.

Question: Does the college provide hostel facilities to both men and women?

Answer: Yes. CCA is a co-ed college. Therefore, it also provides accomodation facilities for both men and women in separate hostels inside the college campus.

Question: Is the admission process same for wards of Kargil Martyrs?

Answer: Wards of Direct Descendents of Kargil Martyrs will be filled through a combined merit list drawn by CBSE on the basis of JEE Main with Architecture Aptitude Test.

Question: Does the college provide any international internships?

Answer: No. As of now, the college offers Industrial visits and seminars around the country but the college does not have a provision for international seminars. However, international facilities often visit the campus for lectures and seminars.
