Placements are good and all students who passed are eligible for placement call. Highest package was 8 lakh per annum and profiles were merchandiser and buying. 25% of students were directly placed and others were indirectly placed.

You learn a lot from nift that not single student take placement from college as college provide jobs with slightly less package AD and FC people gets good jobs in placement and other department students mostly start something of there own or get job in the place where they did their internship

There are placements which are provided in the last semester some of them are really good and some are average. Usually people tend to continue working at the place they intern at and get a good offer.

Placements through colleges are not the most reliable as the number of companies that even come to offer jobs is very limited. Although Nift has introduced this new policy where companies are not allowed to pay less than 8lpa to any student. Number of offers made per year depends on the industry situation at that point. Nift Chennai has to be mentioned as it bagged the highest package of 32 LPA almost 3 years ago. The percentage of students getting placed through NIFT is not worth mentioning as most of them don’t accept the low wages they are providing. Saying so, the NIFT brand does help in the industry by giving you an upper hand. My plans after this degree are not related to the course I am pursuing but rather to a slightly different field that I would like to explore. Mostly around fashion pr, marketing, fashion business, and luxury merchandising is what I want to work with. I would also love to explore fashion editorials if given the opportunity

If you're. a BFTian you already have a job. BFtians learn everything at the end of 4 years and most of us get places in campus placement itself. I plan to do a job for 2-3 years get hands-on experience and then do MBA. At NIFT brains are supposed to do 2 internships one in textile and another in apparel where we mostly learn the basics.
