Placements are good and all students who passed are eligible for placement call. Highest package was 8 lakh per annum and profiles were merchandiser and buying. 25% of students were directly placed and others were indirectly placed.
I did my internship at weaveinindia and my role was digital marketing intern. It was not a paid internship and i was exposed to corporate toxicity. My project was to enhance brand presence on their digital marketing platforms.

I have not applied for any interships as of now since its my first year only. Tho i am planning to apply over semester break. It fine if your first internship is unpaid and youre just starting w your career and you’re inexperienced.
Read Full ReviewYou learn a lot from nift that not single student take placement from college as college provide jobs with slightly less package AD and FC people gets good jobs in placement and other department students mostly start something of there own or get job in the place where they did their internship
I'm in 3rd year bow and at the end of this year I've to go for some internship to work...college doesn't provide you internship you've to search your own...sometimes it's paid sometimes its unpaid but doesn't matter until you are learning something from it.

Yes I've done two internships in the last two years since college started and it's much better for you to start doing internships so that it's easy to understand which area you want to go into. The college provides an internship at the end of the third year so you can also just wait for that internship to occur if you don't have connections of your own.
Read Full ReviewPlacements through colleges are not the most reliable as the number of companies that even come to offer jobs is very limited. Although Nift has introduced this new policy where companies are not allowed to pay less than 8lpa to any student. Number of offers made per year depends on the industry situation at that point. Nift Chennai has to be mentioned as it bagged the highest package of 32 LPA almost 3 years ago. The percentage of students getting placed through NIFT is not worth mentioning as most of them don’t accept the low wages they are providing. Saying so, the NIFT brand does help in the industry by giving you an upper hand. My plans after this degree are not related to the course I am pursuing but rather to a slightly different field that I would like to explore. Mostly around fashion pr, marketing, fashion business, and luxury merchandising is what I want to work with. I would also love to explore fashion editorials if given the opportunity
Considering I just completed my second year of college, I don't have any first-hand experience with internships but just instances heard from our seniors. The companies and roles offered depend majorly on your department and your skill set. Internships are not offered through the college except if your faculty mentor has connections in the industry, then they help you out. All in all it's only your resume and portfolio that decide what kind of internship you would land and the amount that will be paid for the same.
Read Full ReviewIf you're. a BFTian you already have a job. BFtians learn everything at the end of 4 years and most of us get places in campus placement itself. I plan to do a job for 2-3 years get hands-on experience and then do MBA. At NIFT brains are supposed to do 2 internships one in textile and another in apparel where we mostly learn the basics.
The college has contacts with many industries like Arvind, shahi, Aquarelle, and Aditya Birla getting into one of these can be a task but trust me gift experience makes it easy. After these internships, our acceptance rates in the market increased by 70%.
