IHM Goa falls under the Ministry of Tourism, India. “Food Craft Institute”, now known as the IHM was established in 1968 and accredited as Diploma in the year 1984 and then recognised as Degree from 2002 onwards. The institute is affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida (NCHMCT).

IHM Goa Offers B.Sc in Hospitality Management and Hotel Administration with an intake of 308 seats, Diploma in Food Production and Patisserie with an intake of 100 seats and Diploma in Food and beverage service which is a bi-annual course with capacity of 40+40 students. The admission to B.Sc. HHM of IHM Goa is done on the basis of NCHMCT-JEE, a national level entrance exam.

IHM Goa Scholarships

IHM Goa offers various government and non-government scholarships to meritorious students. Classification of these scholarships is given below -:

Central Government Scholarships:

  1. Merit – Cum – Means Based Scholarship Scheme – This central government scholarship is provided to students of minority communities only such as Muslims, Sikhs, Christians etc. Students should score more than 50% in the previous qualifying examination and income ceiling must be upto Rs. 2 lacs and not more to be able to avail this scholarship.
  2. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for SC Students – The income limit of parent’s income is Rs. 4.50 Lacs. The scholarship includes various benefits along with tuition fee financial assistance such as living expenses, books and stationery and computer accessories.
  3. Top Class Education for ST Students – The income limit of a family is Rs. 2 Lacs. The scholarship includes various benefits such as full tuition fee along with benefits of living expenses, books, stationery and computer accessories.
  4. Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu & Kashmir students – This type of scholarship is for Jammu & Kashmir students for a duration of 3 years. It offers reimbursement of tuition fees upto Rs. 30,000/- per annum and reimbursement of hostel fees, course fees and Incidentals up to 1 Lac per annum.

State Government Scholarships:

  1. Post Matric Scholarship SC & OBC Students – This state government scholarship is offered to students belonging to Schedule Caste and Other Backward Classes pursuing post matric/post secondary stage courses. The income slab for SC is Rs. 2 Lacs per annum and for OBC is Rs. 1 Lac per annum.
  2. Post Matric Scholarship ST Students – This state government scholarship is offered to students belonging to Schedule Tribe category and pursuing post matric/post secondary stage courses. The income slab for ST is Rs. 2.50 Lacs per annum.
  3. Educational Concession Scheme (Children of Service Personnel)

Others:

  1. IHM Goa Financial Assistance – Students pursuing Degree and Craftsmanship courses can apply for this scholarship. Minimum 75% attendance in each of the years (Degree Course) is required along with parents income to be less than Rs. 1,20,000. In this scholarship maximum 25% of Annual Fee for each year (Or Craft Course) is waived.
  2. Hotel & Restaurant Association (Western India) Scholarship Trust For Catering Education – It grants scholarships to 1 and 2 year students studying at the Institutes of Hotel Management Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Gwalior and Goa. The Trust bears a part of the amount of tuition fees, payable by the deserving Students to the Institute of Hotel Management, at which he/she is studying.
