What I Liked

the library and it student lounge is one of the main attraction. the availablity of online resource is also impressive
The campus life is very lively. it always filled with exciting programs and events

Placement Experience:

There is a newly set up placement cell in our department. Many law firms and banks have come forward with their placement offers. A good amount of students have turned up for the placement drive. the eligibility is decided on performance and marks

Internships Opportunities:

The internship is a compulsory part of our curriculum. Our department has a good internship cell. The faculties and the student co coordinators are very helpful. The internship cell provides us with an extensive database for internships. Regarding stipends is not a guaranteed factor. May depend on the place of internship

School Of Legal Studies, CUSAT - Its not a dream

What I Liked

Campus life is a significant feature of CUSAT. There are a lot of Fests and activities (both art and sports) going on in the college. It is a highly political college with both SFI and KSU strong in numbers. The campus helped me develop my personality. I used to be a shy, introverted person. But three years in this college has changed my character and gave me confidence. You meet a lot of people because it is a university from different backgrounds studying different courses. The relationships that we build in the university will be helpful in the future, as I am persuing a law degree.
Another thing that I like about the college is the presence of a library. The library is huge and has an enormous collection of books. The research community and the Moot Court Society in the college are also functioning brightly. They are of great help to students. They teach us the basics. Where to start, how to find good moots, How to frame arguments. Etc. The teachers also help a great deal in finding internships. The teachers recommend students for internships at reputed firms.

What I didn’t like

Basic infrastructure facilities like toilets, washrooms etc are lacking. For 403 students and research scholars there are only 6 toilets and are very small in numbers. This is highly inadequate. Basic facilities like projectors are aftem not working or in need of repairs. The only downside to SLS. CUSAT is its lack of finances.
The lack of a competitive environment is another aspect that I did not like about CUSAT. Sometimes it is felt that there is no driving force that make you want to study. Most students prefer to pass every semester without any supplementary exam. However there is no peer to peer competition to secure more marks as that is often a driving force for many students

Placement Experience:

Almost everyone can be placed. But the good packages are very few. Infosys is a top-notch company that has hired 3 individuals from the 2024 batch with a package of 80000 per month. Manappuram Finance also offers packages around 20000 - 25000 per month. I plan on to take an LLM degree as I prefer to become a professor

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are mandatory for Law students. The faculties will be able to help you get internship opportunities at top firms. I have done my internships at DCRB, Kozhikode, MACT Kozhikode, SC/ST atrocities act court Mannarkkad and at several legal firms
