NMCH Patna admits students to MD and MS programmes through NEET PG merit, and it does not offer a management quota. The total fee for either three-year programme is ₹45,000, charged at ₹15,000 per year. Government-regulated charges make postgraduate medical education at the college one of the lowest-priced options in India.

MCC counselling fills 50% of the postgraduate seats through the All India Quota. The other 50% are allotted through Bihar state counselling to eligible domicile candidates. Competition for Bihar quota seats is high. Male students may also face limited hostel availability during the first few months of study.

NMCH Patna PG Admission 2026

NBEMS conducts NEET PG for admission to the MD and MS programmes. Applicants with a valid score must join either MCC All India Quota counselling or Bihar PGMAC counselling. MCC handles 50% of the seats, while Bihar fills the remaining 50% through its state quota. Bihar domicile is necessary for a state quota seat.

Students admitted under the Bihar quota must agree to work for the Bihar government for 3 years after completing the programme. A student who does not fulfil this service condition must pay ₹25,00,000 and return the full stipend received during the course. This bond does not apply to students admitted through the MCC All India Quota.

MD and MS residents receive a monthly stipend under Bihar government rules. The payment is ₹82,000 in the first year, ₹90,200 in the second year and ₹99,220 in the third year.

NMCH Patna Admission FAQs

Ques. What service condition applies after admission through the Bihar PG quota?

Ans. A Bihar quota MD or MS student must sign a bond for 3 years of government service in the state after finishing the programme. Failure to complete this service leads to a ₹25,00,000 penalty and recovery of the entire stipend paid during the course. Students admitted through the MCC All India Quota do not have this bond.

Ques. Which NMCH Patna PG seats are open to applicants who do not have Bihar domicile?

Ans. Applicants from other states may compete for the 50% All India Quota seats through MCC counselling. Bihar domicile candidates receive access to the remaining 50% through state PG counselling. A non-domicile applicant can apply only under the All India Quota and is not covered by the Bihar service bond.

Ques. How much stipend is paid to MD and MS residents each month?

Ans. The monthly stipend is ₹82,000 in year one, ₹90,200 in year two and ₹99,220 in year three under Bihar government norms. A state quota graduate who breaks the service bond must repay the full stipend in addition to the financial penalty.

Ques. Does an internship ending in October 2026 satisfy the NEET PG 2026 requirement?

Ans. No. The compulsory rotating internship must be completed by September 30, 2026. Anyone finishing after that deadline cannot join the 2026 admission cycle and must apply in the next NEET PG cycle. Applicants should still check the official NBEMS bulletin for any change to the deadline.

Ques. Can a student enter an NMCH Patna paramedical diploma without taking DCECE PM?

Ans. No. Admission requires registration through the BCECEB portal, a DCECE PM score and participation in online counselling. Direct entry, lateral entry and management quota admission are not available, and the college does not run a separate application process.

Ques. Which documents are needed when reporting for an allotted MD or MS seat?

Ans. Students should bring the original MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, NEET PG 2026 scorecard and NMC or State Medical Council registration certificate. The MCC or Bihar counselling allotment letter is also required. State quota students must carry their Bihar domicile certificate, while applicable candidates need a category certificate. Multiple self-attested photocopies of every document should be carried because the college may temporarily keep original records during verification.
