NEET UG scores decide MBBS admission at NMCH Patna. MCC conducts counselling for the 15% All India Quota. NMCH Patna Courses and Fees

NMCH Patna runs undergraduate, postgraduate and para-medical courses under a government-approved fee structure. MBBS is its main programme, with 150 seats. Its postgraduate range includes more than 19 MD and MS courses. The following general-quota fees are based on 2025-26 records.

The MD choices include Anaesthesia, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine, General Medicine, Microbiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Preventive and Social Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Skin and V.D., and Tuberculosis and Respiratory Medicine.

NMCH Patna Admission Process

MBBS Admission

NMCH Patna admits MBBS students only through NEET UG. It neither holds a separate college entrance test nor offers direct admission. Applicants must meet all of these conditions:

• Pass 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects
• Secure at least 50% aggregate marks in PCB for General and EWS categories, or 40% for SC, ST and OBC categories
• Be at least 17 years old on 31 December of the admission year
• Have a valid NEET UG score issued by NTA

UGMAC counselling allocates 85% state-quota seats, while MCC centralised counselling fills the remaining 15% All India Quota seats.

MD and MS Admission

Seat allocation considers the applicant's NEET PG rank, category and submitted preferences. After receiving an allotment letter, the student must complete document checks and report to NMCH Patna before the admission is final.

B.Sc Nursing and Para-medical Programmes

The Bihar state nursing admission committee manages B.Sc Nursing admissions. Students need 10+2 with PCB and at least 45% marks. The Bihar Para-medical Board admits students to DMLT and other diploma programmes on Class 12 merit, without another entrance test.

NMCH Patna Placements and Career Outcomes

As a government medical college, NMCH Patna does not run a campus placement programme. MBBS graduates usually move into the compulsory rotating internship, prepare for NEET PG residency, apply to Bihar State Health Services, or begin private or clinic-based practice.

Students who enter through the Bihar State Quota must complete a rural health service bond. After MBBS, they have to work for the prescribed period at an assigned healthcare centre in a rural or semi-urban part of Bihar. Failure to serve carries a financial penalty under Bihar government rules.

NMCH Patna Campus and Infrastructure

NMCH Patna is spread across 100 acres in Agamkuan, Patna, with department buildings located throughout the campus. Its attached hospital contains more than 750 beds and uses a fully computerised central registration system. More than 2,000 patients visit its OPD each day, giving students regular clinical exposure in medical and surgical departments.

The operating theatres support minimally invasive procedures and endo-urological surgery. They also have a central gas pipeline and suction system. Academic sessions take place in a fully air-conditioned lecture theatre equipped with multimedia projection.

Separate on-campus hostels are provided for male and female students, and each has designated wardens. Hostel charges are up to INR 12,000 a year. The same campus houses the GNM Institute for nursing students. NMCH Patna also takes part in pulse polio vaccination and other national and community health programmes across the Patna region.

NMCH Patna Scholarships

Students at NMCH Patna may apply for central and Bihar government scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. These schemes can add financial support to the college's low government fee structure.

NMCH Patna vs PMCH Patna vs SKMCH Muzaffarpur
