Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior (MITS Gwalior) began in 1957 through the efforts of His Highness Sir Jiwaji Rao Scindia, Maharaja of the erstwhile state of Gwalior. Every B.Tech branch follows the same fee structure. The CSE group, including CSE, CSE with AI/ML, AI, Data Science and IoT, receives the strongest demand from applicants.

MITS Gwalior Admission Process

Selection at MITS Gwalior depends on the programme. B.Tech applicants use JEE Main, B.Arch applicants can present NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 scores, and postgraduate applicants qualify through the examinations prescribed for their courses.

B.Tech Admission

MP DTE assigns regular B.Tech seats after considering the applicant's JEE Main rank, category and preferred branch. MITS also accepts direct applications for NRI and management-quota seats.

  • Applicants need at least 45% in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The minimum is 40% for candidates in reserved SC/ST categories.
  • The admission sequence is:
    1. Obtain a JEE Main score.
    2. Register for MP DTE Online Counselling.
    3. Submit course and branch choices.
    4. Receive the seat allotment based on rank, category and preference.
    5. Complete document verification.
    6. Pay the required fee.
  • For CSE under the Home State quota, the 2024 JEE Main closing rank for the General Category was 92,000. The closing ranks for branches outside CSE were higher.

B.Arch Admission

Applicants may use either NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch. MP DTE Architecture counselling manages the selection process. Students must have studied Mathematics in 10+2 and secured at least 50% in aggregate.

M.Tech Admission

A valid GATE score and at least 50% in the qualifying B.E./B.Tech degree are needed for M.Tech admission. Reserved-category applicants require 45%. Students admitted with valid GATE scores can receive the AICTE-linked GATE Scholarship.

MBA and MCA Admission

MBA applicants need a bachelor's degree with at least 50% and a valid CAT, CMAT or MAT score. Seats are allotted through MP DTE MBA counselling. For MCA, selection considers NIMCET or MP MTCET scores. The qualifying degree must be a BCA or BSc with Mathematics and at least 50%.

MITS Gwalior Campus and Infrastructure

The self-contained MITS Gwalior campus covers 44.6 acres at Gole Ka Mandir in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Residential accommodation consists of five hostels, with three assigned to male students and two to female students.
