SDMCET Darwad was established by the SDME Society in 1979. It is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technical University Belgaum & UGC New Delhi. The Institute has been conferred twice by the NBA & selected for TEQIP. It is ranked #71 out of 175 for Engineering in India in 2024 by The Times Of India.

SDMCET offers UG and PG courses i.e. B.E flagship course. The fee for B.E is INR 10.77 lakhs. The eligibility criteria for B.E is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream with 45% marks (5% marks relaxation for SC/ST category). The selection process of the candidate will be based on the COMEDK/KCET followed by a counselling session. The overall KCET cutoff rank for the GM Category is 14255 - 215522.

SDMCET also offers an M.Tech course. The fee for M.Tech is INR 1.50 lakhs. The eligibility criteria for M.Tech is that the candidate should be a graduate and have a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering discipline with 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST category). The selection process of the candidate will be based on the KMAT followed by a counselling session.

Additionally, SDMCET also offers an MBA program. The fee for an MBA is INR 2.3 lakhs. The eligibility criteria is that the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline with 50% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST category). The selection process of the candidate will be based on the KMAT followed by a counselling session.

SDMCET provides various scholarships such as Jindal Foundation, SKDRDP (Sugnyana Nidhi), PMSSS scholarship, Defence Scholarship and many more. SDMCET placement for the academic year 2022-24 received the highest CTC of INR 32 LPA and an average CTC of INR 9.4 LPA. The top recruiters were Radisys, Juniper, Dell Technologies, Mercedes-Benz, Visa and many more.
