SHEAT Group of Institutions Admission Process

Admission is decided through entrance scores or academic merit, depending on the programme. Each constituent college applies the eligibility conditions set by its affiliating university or regulatory council.

The following routes apply to the different programme groups:

Applicants generally complete the process in this order:

1. Select a programme and check its academic eligibility.
2. Take the required entrance examination or apply through an available merit route.
3. Wait for shortlisting based on the entrance score or qualifying examination marks.
4. Report to the campus for verification of documents.
5. Pay the applicable fee to confirm the allotted seat.

B.Tech Programmes

AKTU rules govern B.Tech admission, with JEE Main counselling serving as the main selection route. Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects in 10+2. The third subject may be Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics or Biology. General category applicants need a minimum aggregate of 45%, while SC, ST and OBC applicants need 40%.

JEE Main is the principal route, although CUET scores and the institution’s entrance examination are also considered for direct-admission seats. For B.Tech CSE admission through JEE Main, the usual requirement is above the 50 percentile for the General category. Cutoffs for Civil, EEE and Mechanical Engineering are lower than those for CSE branches.

MBA and Management Programmes

Applicants to the AKTU-affiliated MBA need a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50%. The requirement is 45% for reserved categories. CUET-PG is the main qualifying examination, but admission through graduation merit is also possible. Work experience is not required. BBA selection depends on 10+2 marks and does not require an entrance test.

Pharmacy Programmes

PCI guidelines apply to B.Pharma and D.Pharma admission. B.Pharma applicants must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Mathematics. They need at least 50%, or 45% if they belong to a reserved category. D.Pharma accepts the same subject combination with a minimum of 45%. CUET is the preferred B.Pharma route. For M.Pharm, students need a B.Pharma degree with 55% and a valid GPAT score.

Other Programmes

Selection for BA, B.Com, BCA and B.Sc Agriculture is based on merit through the MGKVP-affiliated or direct routes. B.Ed requires graduation with 50%. GNM follows the rules of the UP state nursing council and requires 10+2 Science with Biology and English. Diploma engineering applicants must pass Class 10 with Science and Mathematics, and JEECUP is the main qualifying examination. Diploma holders with 45% can seek lateral entry into the second year of B.Tech.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Placements

Campus recruitment covers students from B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, Diploma and B.Pharma. In 2025, the institution reported 548 placements among 600 registered students, with 35 companies taking part.

The 2025 drive recorded a highest package of INR 6.95 LPA and an average package of INR 3.25 LPA. Recruiters regularly come from banking and financial services, information technology services, retail and manufacturing.

ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and TCS are among the regular recruiters, together with mid-sized retail and manufacturing companies in eastern Uttar Pradesh. B.Pharma students obtain roles with pharmaceutical retail chains, hospital pharmacies and clinical research organisations in Varanasi and other parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Scholarships

Saraswati Vidya Yojana is the main institutional scholarship for high-performing students from economically weaker families. Merit ranks in the SHEAT Entrance Exam can also lead to programme-based fee reductions of up to 100%. Eligible students may additionally apply for central and Uttar Pradesh government schemes.

SHEAT Group of Institutions Campus and Infrastructure

The shared campus of the six colleges stands on NH-56 Airport Road in Babatpur, close to Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. Each college has separate faculty and administrative blocks. Road links connect the campus with Varanasi, and institute-operated transport is available to day scholars.

Boys and girls live in different hostel blocks. The annual charge of INR 98,000 to 1,03,000 includes both accommodation and boarding. Facilities for engineering students include computer laboratories, workshops and project labs for the individual branches as required by AICTE. The pharmacy college has dispensing and pharmacognosy laboratories that meet PCI requirements.

Students who cannot visit Babatpur may complete admission enquiries and documentation at the city office in Divya Complex, Khajuri, Varanasi. Activities across the colleges include an annual cultural festival, technical symposia and inter-college sports competitions.

SHEAT Group of Institutions vs UCER Prayagraj vs PSIT Kanpur

SHEAT Varanasi, United College of Engineering and Research (UCER) Prayagraj and Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT) Kanpur are private, AKTU-affiliated institutions in Uttar Pradesh. Each offers B.Tech and MBA, but their locations and wider course options differ.

SHEAT has the widest subject mix of the three, with pharmacy, nursing, education and arts alongside engineering and management. PSIT offers access to the Kanpur industrial corridor, while UCER is located closer to students who prefer the Prayagraj region.
