A systematic review of my College.

What I Liked

Infrastructure - Infrastructure is good according to the number of students. Facilities are available which are required. Classrooms are good, lighting is good in classes. Classrooms are spacious.
Laboratories - Good laboratories and library is there. The systems are good in our department labs. Internet connectivity is there,for students to work and to study.
Supportive faculties - Faculties are supportive as they guide you to what to do and what not to do. Faculties helps you if you have any issues regarding studies.

What I didn’t like

Placement issues - Placement opportunities are less,which needs to be improve. Companies visiting are not offering good packages and terms and conditions.
Extra curricular activities - Sports and other extra curricular activities are less,sports equipments are not there in much amount. Sports activities are also not conducted on regular basis.
Semester duration - Semester duration is not fixed,it can varies from semester to semester. Sometimes they are to big, sometimes they are completed in very less time,leads to lots of pressure on students.

Placement Experience:

Placement and job opportunities are there but in less amount. As a third-tier college, the campus visits of companies are less compared to other bigger colleges. Companies which are conducting placement exams at all India levels gave opportunities to our college students also, to take part in those exams through placement cells. Companies like justpay,soti,myways. ai, BIT, and the first American to visit our college or hire through the online examination process. Around 20-30 per cent of students are placed, but that number can also be less sometimes. The highest offer is around 5-6 lakhs and the average is around 3-4 lakhs. Most of the students didn't get placed either due to fewer opportunities or fewer skills. My plans are also to get a job in the technology field during my degree only through campus placements or as soon as possible after my degree.

Remarks:

I got to know about this college through my friend, who was studying at this college already. The college is affiliated with VTU University which is a good University, so it was the main reason to take admission in this college. Apart from that the fees were less compared to other private colleges. The college has good infrastructure and supportive faculties. Placement opportunities are less, extra curricular activities are also less. I was admission to this through management quota, so I don't have to take any exams, just based on my 12th marks they took my admission. Other than management quota, two exams are available, CET for state students and Comedk for out-of-state students. Students coming through CET usually have lower fees as compared to students coming through Comedk availing of same state benefits. Normally cutoff of CET is around 40000-50000 for this college, to get into computer science or other branches. Tuition fees for management quota and Comedk students are more compared to CET students.

What I Liked

Mentorship- Teachers are really supportive and they are very helpful,also they provide good mentorship for the students. They help students regarding their doubts and issues in studies. They also motivates students if needed.
Infrastructure - Overall infrastructure is good,based on the strength of the students. Facilities are available like washrooms, drinking water, dustbin. Focus on cleanliness is also there, security is good so overall infrastructure is good.
Laboratory- Computer systems are available and good laboratories are there for students. Good internet connectivity is provided in the college and also books are available in enough amount for academics. Faculties are good,friendly and supportive.
Campus life- Campus life is good ,as it is open campus, canteens are available, sitting spots are there for students to talk and spend time during breaks.

What I didn’t like

Teaching methods - Teaching methods are not that upto the Mark. As my course required some advance knowledge and practical teaching skills,so that level of teaching is not available. Faculties are supportive but the teaching needs to improve.
Placement - Placement facilities are there but opportunities are less for the students. Companies visiting campus are in very less amount. No big MNC visits our college. Students getting very low package,so overall there's a scope of improvement in placement department.
Extra curricular activities - Extra curricular activities are not available or conducted in that much amount, students clubs are not there,sports activities are less.

Placement Experience:

As a third-tier college placements and facilities are available but it is tough to crack those jobs. Companies like first American, bit,soti, and focus edutech, come as a pool campus drive or through the online test method. The average package is around 4 lakhs and the highest package is 6-6.5 lakhs by First American. But the number of students who got placed is less, due to fewer opportunities or fewer skills and knowledge. Most of the companies which visit are based on online exams, which they conduct for a particular region colleges or all over India. My plan is also to get a job after a degree or during my degree through campus placements.

Remarks:

A main factor that I considered was this college comes under VTU University which is a very famous and good University. I was referred by my friend, so that's how I got to know about this college. I took admission through management quota, but if you are from Karnataka you can take CET entrance exams and If you are from out of Karnataka you can take the Comedk entrance exam to get admission in this college. The fee structure is different for CET and Comedk students. Normally CET students pay fewer fees, availing the benefits of their home state. The cut-off is around 40000, in CET for this college, or you can get direct admission also. You just need to have above around 45 per cent in 12th exams, But maybe it can cost you more. The good aspects of the college are the supportive faculties, good University, teacher-to-student ratio, and laboratories. Bad aspects include uneven timings of the semester, placement issues as it is a third-tier college, and teaching quality is not upto the mark.

Welcome to SIET Tumkur

What I Liked

Infrastructure is still developing but it's beautiful and with true friends campus will be heaven . The campus have 2 canteen with all North Indian and south indian food items .
Faculties are supportive , they will provide you all the necessary guidance with resources anyway the labs are not fully developed but that will be fixed soon as the infrastructure is still in developing stage.

What I didn’t like

The college have open campus so anyone can enter to the campus without id check
Anyways camera are installed but college id security check should be done before letting inside anyone

Placement Experience:

Eligibility is 70% with no active backlog and avg package is around 4L. You will find a placement officer and other staff who will guide you for the upcoming rounds and will also guide you for many certifications but at last, it's all on you how hard you work hard.

Remarks:

I chose this college after my friend's recommendation, the campus is good but it's an open campus so some random dudes and also visit without any check. The weather in Tumkur is quite different from Bangalore but it's very beautiful and Tumkur has many beautiful places to visit too.
