PESITM Admission Process

Engineering seats at PESITM are allotted through Karnataka counselling under VTU and the Karnataka Examinations Authority. The engineering admission code for the college is E150. KCET is the main route for Karnataka state-quota seats, while COMEDK UGET offers another route through its process, including for applicants from outside Karnataka and students with higher COMEDK ranks.

B.E. Admission

Applicants need a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET result. Under state reservation rules, Karnataka domicile students receive preference for KCET seats. Candidates must complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The required aggregate is 45%, reduced to 40% for reserved categories.

  • Take KCET for state-quota admission or COMEDK UGET for management-quota admission.
  • Complete KEA online counselling registration and enter the preferred colleges and engineering branches.
  • Wait for allotment, which depends on the candidate's rank, category, and the seats available at PESITM.
  • After receiving a seat, report to PESITM with the original 10+2 marks card, KCET rank card, domicile certificate, and required fee.

KCET 2025 allotment figures show that General Merit applicants with ranks up to 53,000 to 54,000 obtained CSE and AI and Machine Learning seats in earlier cycles. General-category admissions to Civil and Mechanical Engineering extended beyond 2,00,000. Recent COMEDK closing ranks for CSE were between 10,000 and 20,000.

B.E. Lateral Entry Admission

Students with a Diploma in the relevant engineering field can enter the second year of B.E. through Karnataka DCET. KEA fills these lateral-entry seats through DCET counselling.

MBA and MCA Admission

For MBA admission, applicants need a recognised undergraduate degree with at least 50%. Accepted examinations are KMAT Karnataka, CMAT, and Karnataka PGCET, followed by VTU state counselling. MCA applicants must have studied Mathematics during their undergraduate degree and hold a valid Karnataka PGCET rank. MBA and MCA are both full-time courses lasting 2 years.

PESITM Placements

The Career Development Centre manages placement training and recruitment at PESITM. In 2024, the placement drive produced 640 offers from more than 23 companies. The highest salary package reached INR 12 LPA, while the average stood at INR 5 LPA.

PESITM Campus and Infrastructure

PESITM occupies a 49-acre campus on Sagar Main Road in Shivamogga, Karnataka. Separate blocks serve the B.E. departments, while laboratories follow VTU and AICTE requirements. Other facilities include seminar halls, a placement centre, and a central library containing books, journals, and digital learning resources. Transport services connect the campus with major points in Shivamogga city.

Students can use facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. The campus also has centres of excellence developed with technology partners. Each of the six NBA-accredited B.E. courses, CSE, ISE, ECE, Civil, Mechanical, and EEE, has dedicated facilities that meet the outcome-based education standards assessed during NBA visits. No campus hostel is on record. Students generally find accommodation in Shivamogga city, located 3 to 5 km from the campus.

Specialised research centres within the departments support the Ph.D. and M.Sc. by Research programmes. Engineering faculty members participate in funded projects and publish work through conferences.
