GLIM Chennai Admission Dates 2027

For the 2027 intake, applicants can use CAT 2026, XAT 2027, NMAT 2026 or qualifying GMAT scores earned from January 2024 onward. CAT 2026 will take place on 29 November 2026, while the XAT 2027 examination is set for 3 January 2027. The application window for PGPM 2027-28 and PGDM 2027-29 is expected to open in December 2026.

The entrance tests accepted by GLIM Chennai depend on the programme. The available programme families, their qualifying examinations and their durations are listed below.

GLIM Chennai Courses and Fees

Five management programmes are available in residential, executive, flexible and certificate formats. The residential flagships are the 1-year PGPM and the 2-year PGDM. Programme costs extend from INR 9.85 Lakhs for PGPM Flex to INR 23.5 Lakhs for PGPM.

The INR 23.5 Lakhs PGPM charge is an all-inclusive amount. It incorporates single air-conditioned accommodation valued at INR 3.96 Lakhs and all vegetarian meals. PGPM students selecting the Family Business and Entrepreneurship track pay the same total, with no additional specialisation fee.

GLIM Chennai Admission Process

Selection for PGPM and PGDM considers the applicant’s complete profile instead of relying on a declared minimum CAT, XAT, GMAT or NMAT cutoff. Academic results, professional experience, entrance-test performance, the application essay and the interview all contribute to the final decision.

PGPM Admission Process

Only applicants with professional experience can join PGPM, so fresh graduates do not qualify. An eligible applicant must meet these conditions:

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognised institution and have at least 50% aggregate in Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation
• Complete at least 2 years of full-time, post-qualification employment by 30 April 2027
• Submit a valid CAT, XAT, NMAT or GMAT score, with GMAT results accepted from January 2024

The process begins with an online assessment of the applicant’s academics, test result, essay and work profile. Shortlisted applicants then complete an AI-proctored video interview. The final stage is a Personal Interview, conducted online or in person in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kolkata. Admission offers are released on a rolling-cycle basis.

PGDM Admission Process

PGDM serves fresh graduates and applicants at the start of their careers. Anyone with 36 months or more of experience as of 30 May 2026 does not qualify for PGDM and should choose PGPM instead.

• Applicants with less than 36 months of work experience may also apply
• Provide a valid CAT, XAT, NMAT or GMAT score, with GMAT results accepted from January 2024

Applicants pass through the same three stages used for PGPM: profile assessment, video interview and Personal Interview. Four application cycles are conducted for each PGDM intake. Applying during an earlier round can provide stronger scholarship consideration.

Executive PGPM and PGPM Flex

Executive PGPM is intended for mid-career applicants with substantial corporate experience, with GMAT and GRE serving as the main admission criteria. PGPM Flex applies a similar eligibility framework for working professionals. Each programme uses a separate application route on the official GLIM website.

GLIM Chennai Placements

The Class of 2026 placement results cover both residential flagship programmes. PGPM reached an average CTC of INR 18.1 LPA and a highest CTC of INR 43 LPA. Its average offer was 2.6 times the incoming compensation. For PGDM, the corresponding figures were an average CTC of INR 15 LPA and a highest CTC of INR 40 LPA.

Business Consulting accounted for the largest part of PGPM hiring. Among PGDM offers, BFSI led with 37%, Business Consulting contributed 17% and Technology made up 12%. Both programmes attracted many first-time recruiters, including more than 40 new organisations for PGPM in 2026.

A community of more than 16,000 alumni working in over 30 countries supports lateral recruitment opportunities. The institute also cites its AACSB and AMBA accreditations as factors that help bring consulting and international employers to the campus.

GLIM Chennai Rankings

NIRF Management 2025 ranked GLIM Chennai 37th, making it the second highest-ranked management institution in Chennai. The institute had held the 52nd position in 2024. Its AACSB, AMBA and NBA accreditations also place it within a limited group of management schools in India carrying all three credentials.

The institute does not currently release participation information for international ranking systems such as QS or Financial Times. Within its NIRF score of 58.05, it earned 73.36 for Outreach and Inclusivity and 81.85 for Graduation Outcomes.

GLIM Chennai Scholarships

PGPM and PGDM students can receive support through two merit-based scholarship schemes. Awards are decided during admission, and neither scheme requires a separate application.

The institute deducts the 40 merit and diversity awards directly from the programme charge when admission is granted. A PGPM recipient of an INR 5 Lakhs award therefore pays INR 18.5 Lakhs rather than INR 23.5 Lakhs. For the recipient of the Dr. Bala V. Balachandran scholarship, the effective PGPM cost becomes INR 11.07 Lakhs.

GLIM Chennai Campus and Infrastructure

The residential campus stands on East Coast Road, south of Chennai and away from crowded urban areas. Its sustainable construction and energy-efficiency standards have earned it recognition as Asia’s first LEED Platinum Rated campus.

PGPM students receive single air-conditioned rooms and all vegetarian meals within the programme fee. Non-vegetarian food can be purchased separately at the mess counter. Accommodation arrangements for PGDM are different and are confirmed during admission.

Research facilities include dedicated centres for artificial intelligence, finance and marketing. Students can also interact with academic and industry networks through the annual NASMEI Conference, organised by the North American Society for Marketing Education in India, and TEDxGLIMChennai.

GLIM Chennai vs IMT Ghaziabad vs TAPMI Manipal

GLIM Chennai, IMT Ghaziabad and TAPMI Manipal belong to a similar NIRF 2025 range and offer comparable management education options. A key difference is programme design. GLIM provides both a 1-year PGPM for experienced professionals and a 2-year PGDM for fresh graduates, whereas the main offerings at IMT and TAPMI are 2-year PGDM programmes.

Of the three, IMT Ghaziabad has the best NIRF position and gains placement access from its NCR location. GLIM Chennai offers triple accreditation and a distinct 1-year route for professionals. TAPMI Manipal is close to GLIM in the rankings and provides access to the wider Manipal university environment for cross-disciplinary learning. The suitable choice depends on a student’s career stage, preferred course format and location.
