SPJIMR Admission Process

SPJIMR selects PGDM and PGDM (BM) students through two stages. First, candidates are shortlisted either by profile or by profile plus score. Then they appear for in-person interviews. The institute checks academic record, work experience, entrance test performance, achievements, and the overall strength of the profile. CAT and GMAT are accepted for the full-time PGDM programmes.

PGDM and PGDM (BM)

  • Eligibility: Students need a bachelor’s degree in any stream with at least 50 percent aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised university.
  • Work experience: Work experience is not compulsory. Fresh graduates and working professionals can both apply.
  • Entrance exams: A valid CAT or GMAT score is needed. Domestic applicants must have at least 75 percentile in each section and 85 percentile overall in CAT. International applicants must have at least 65 percentile in each section and 75 percentile overall. Clearing the minimum cutoff does not ensure a shortlist.
  • Application: PGDM and PGDM (BM) use one common form. The application fee changes by cycle and should be checked from the latest admission notice.
  • Selection stages: The shortlist is prepared through a profile-based or profile-cum-score-based method, followed by two rounds of in-person interviews in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Delhi.

Note: SPJIMR gives strong weight to the full profile, including academics, achievements, leadership potential, and work experience. CAT scores matter, but the institute does not select students only by percentile.

PGPM

  • Eligibility: Applicants need a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent marks and at least three years of full-time work experience after graduation.
  • Entrance exams: A valid CAT or GMAT score is required.
  • Selection: PGPM admissions are rolling. Applications are reviewed after submission, and shortlisted applicants are called for interviews during the admission cycle.

PGPFMB and Executive Programs

  • PGPFMB is for applicants from family-managed businesses. It requires a bachelor’s degree and a family business background.
  • Global Management Program (GMP) and Post Graduate Executive Management Program (PGEMP) are designed for working professionals and senior executives. Selection mainly uses profile review and interviews, and entrance exam scores are not mandatory for these programmes.
  • Certificate and short-duration programmes usually do not need entrance exams, but eligibility differs by programme.
