SIMS Pune Admission Dates 2027

SIMS Pune MBA admission for the 2027-29 batch is based on SNAP 2026. Candidates must complete SNAP registration, register separately for SIMS Pune and then appear for the selection rounds if shortlisted.

SIMS Pune Courses and Fees

SIMS Pune offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes in management. Its main course is the two-year MBA, which is available in five specialisations and has a total intake of 300 seats.

SIMS Pune Admission Process

SIMS Pune admission is mainly based on SNAP. The institute follows a special seat pattern, with 90% of MBA seats set aside for the defence community and 10% for civilian candidates. Because the civilian pool has fewer seats, the competition for open-category students is higher.

MBA Admission - Defence Category

Defence category applicants include serving armed forces personnel, retired officers and their dependents. They must have a valid defence identity card or service certificate. They also need a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate, while SC and ST candidates need 45%.

MBA Admission - Civilian Category

Civilian applicants compete for 30 seats across all five MBA specialisations. For the 2026-28 batch, the SNAP cutoff for civilian candidates was 77 percentile. These candidates go through the same GE and PI stages as defence category applicants.

EMBA and Ph.D. Admission

The Executive MBA is meant for working professionals. Admission is based on SNAP along with a review of work experience. The Ph.D. in Management is handled by Symbiosis International University and requires SRET, followed by a research proposal and faculty interview.

SIMS Pune Placements

For the 2023-25 batch, SIMS Pune reported the highest placement offer of INR 21 LPA. The top 10% of students had an average package of INR 17.5 LPA, while the top 25% averaged INR 15.5 LPA. BFSI was the leading hiring sector, and Finance students received the strongest offers.

Recruiters in the 2025 placement season included Accenture, AON, Apollo Global Management, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Bank of America, Barclays, BNY, Cognizant, Crisil and Deloitte. Recruiters in BFSI and consulting often value the defence-majority batch for discipline and structured work habits.

SIMS Pune Rankings

SIMS Pune has been ranked by IIRF among MBA institutes in India. The institute does not appear in the NIRF Management ranked list.

SIMS Pune Scholarships

SIMS Pune provides a merit-based scholarship for MBA students. The PG Merit Scholarship is given at the time of admission and is based on academic performance.

SIMS Pune Campus and Infrastructure

SIMS Pune is in Khadki, Pune, Maharashtra, and is part of the Symbiosis Knowledge Village. The campus includes a library, smart classrooms, computer labs, seminar halls and an auditorium.

Full-time MBA students must stay in the hostel. The institute has separate hostel facilities for male and female students. Hostel fees are INR 1,05,900 per year, and mess charges are INR 59,800 per year. These charges are separate from the MBA tuition fee of INR 14,20,000. Sports facilities and a cafeteria are also available on campus.

SIMS Pune vs SIIB Pune vs SITM Pune

SNAP applicants who look at SIMS Pune may also compare it with SIIB Pune and SITM Pune. All three are Symbiosis institutes in Pune and accept SNAP scores, but their programme focus and seat structures are different.

SIMS Pune is a strong option for defence candidates and their dependents because of its reserved-seat pattern. SIIB Pune fits students interested in global business, exports and international finance. SITM Pune is more suitable for engineering graduates who want roles in telecom and IT management. Among these three institutes, civilian candidates face the toughest SNAP cutoff at SIMS Pune.
