Regional Institute of Education, Mysore will soon start the admission process for the academic year 2024. RIE accepts NCERT CEE for admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

Candidates will be able to fill the application form on the official website of NCERT by paying the required application fee. RIE, Mysore conducts its own entrance exam for admissions to PhD programs. Applications for PhD are invited twice a year in the months of September & March.

RIE, Mysore follows the reservation criteria for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD candidates as per NCERT, Delhi norms according to which 15% of the total seats are reserved for SC category students, 7.5% are reserved for ST category students, 27% are reserved for OBC students and 3% are reserved for PwD/ PH candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for BSc.BEd and BA.BEd courses is that the candidates must have passed 10+2 from CBSE Senior Secondary Examination/ Pre-University Examination of Karnataka or an equivalent Examination of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry or the UT of Lakshadweep with 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) aggregate marks. However, the particular eligibility criteria set by the institute is mentioned below:

For BSc.BEd:

  • For admissions to the PCM stream, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject at 10+2 level approved by University of Mysore.
  • For admissions to CBZ stream, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Chemistry, Botany, Zoology subject combination at 10+2 level.

For BA.BEd:

Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with English, Regional Language and any two of the subjects from History, Geography, Economics, Political Science and Sociology.

For BEd:

  • Candidate’s should have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanities or BE/ BTech with specialization in Science or Mathematics from universities of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana or the UT of Lakshadweep/ Puducherry with 50% aggregate marks.
  • Candidates opting for the Science/ Mathematics stream should have any of the two subjects from Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology at the degree level.
  • Candidates opting for English and Humanities should have studied English and any one of the following subjects: History/ Geography/ Economics/ Sociology/ Political Science at the degree level.

Selection Criteria

  • Candidates need to appear for the National Level Common Entrance Exam (CEE) conducted by NCERT which consist of MCQs with equal weightage to the three content areas of the combination of subjects at PUC/ CBSE level.
  • Final selection to the course will be based on the combined performance of candidates in CEE and merit in last qualifying examinations.
