PCTE Group of Institutes Admission Dates 2027

The 2027-28 admission cycle is expected to begin after the JEE Main and CUET UG results. IKGPTU counselling for technical and other affiliated programmes is tentatively scheduled from June to August 2027, followed by the start of classes in September.

PCTE Group of Institutes Courses and Fees

More than 30 programmes are available across the group's five institutes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Total fees for most undergraduate courses fall between INR 1.46 Lakhs and INR 4.20 Lakhs.

The institute also runs 2-year M.Tech courses in CSE, AI and Data Science, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Each has a total fee of INR 1.51 Lakhs. Ph.D. programmes in Engineering and Sciences are also available at INR 1.51 Lakhs per programme.

PCTE Group of Institutes Admission Process

Admission requirements depend on the chosen programme. Engineering applicants generally take part in IKGPTU centralised counselling, while management, commerce, pharmacy, hospitality, journalism, fashion and tourism courses use entrance scores or qualifying-exam merit as applicable.

B.Tech Admission

After the JEE Main results are announced, eligible B.Tech applicants must register for IKGPTU centralised counselling.

• Applicants need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 45% aggregate marks. The requirement is 40% for reserved categories.
• A valid JEE Main or IKGPTU Entrance Test score is required.
• The steps are online counselling registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.
• Diploma holders can seek direct entry to Year 2 through LEET (Punjab).

B.Tech seats are offered in CSE, AI and Machine Learning, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology and Agricultural Engineering. CSE generally receives the greatest applicant demand.

MBA and BBA Admission

MBA applicants may submit MAT, CMAT, ATMA or CAT scores directly to PCTE. Shortlisted students then attend group discussion and personal interview rounds.

• MBA applicants must hold a graduation degree with at least 50% marks.
• BBA and B.Com require 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 45% marks.
• BBA selection uses qualifying-exam merit or a CUET UG score, followed by direct admission.

B.Pharm and D.Pharm Admission

The pharmacy admission procedure follows Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guidelines and the Punjab state pharmacy counselling system.

• Students must complete 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry, along with Biology or Mathematics, and obtain at least 45% marks.
• Selection may be based on PUCET, which is the Punjab University Common Entrance Test, CUET UG or qualifying-exam merit.

Hospitality, Journalism, Fashion Design and Tourism

Admission to BHMCT, BTTM, BJMC and Fashion Design is based on 10+2 marks, while CUET UG scores are also accepted. Applicants from any 10+2 stream need at least 45% aggregate marks.

PCTE Group of Institutes Placements

All constituent institutes take part in PCTE's yearly campus recruitment drives. In the 2024-25 placement season, B.Tech recorded a highest package of INR 27 LPA, and the MBA highest package was INR 14 LPA. Engineering and management students received average packages of INR 6 to 7 LPA.

Campus recruiters include Wipro, Accenture, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Infosys and HUL. Marriott, Hyatt, ITC Hotels and Oberoi group properties recruit Hotel Management graduates. BJMC and Fashion Design graduates mainly take roles with media houses, design studios and retail brands across Punjab and the NCR.

PCTE Group of Institutes Rankings

PCTE is not part of the NIRF ranking list. India Today has ranked its Hotel Management, Fashion Design and private Engineering categories, while Outlook has assessed its BBA/BMS offering.

The category positions for Hotel Management and Fashion Design are higher than the private Engineering rank, matching PCTE's established focus on hospitality and design education.

PCTE Group of Institutes Campus and Infrastructure

Five constituent institutes occupy PCTE's two Ludhiana campuses. The main site is in Baddowal on Ferozepur Road, outside the city centre, and has direct road links to GT Road and the Chandigarh highway. Ludhiana city centre is 15 kilometres from the Baddowal campus.

Boys and girls have separate on-campus hostels. Depending on the room category, annual girls' hostel charges range from INR 46,800 to INR 87,600. Separate academic blocks serve Engineering, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Management, with laboratories and studios designed for their subjects. Hotel Management students use a fully equipped training kitchen and mock front desk, while the Fashion Design block contains design studios and a garment production laboratory.

Other facilities include campus Wi-Fi, a central library with digital resources, a sports complex and a student activity centre.

PCTE Group of Institutes vs CGC Landran vs GNA University

PCTE Ludhiana, Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran and GNA University are private institutions in Punjab with B.Tech and management courses in broadly similar fee ranges. They differ in institutional status, approvals and their main academic strengths.

India Today's BHMCT and Fashion Design rankings reflect PCTE's focus on hospitality and design. CGC Landran has NBA accreditation for technical programmes and a larger Engineering intake. As a state private university, GNA University grants its own degrees. B.Tech and management fees remain broadly comparable across the three institutions.
