PCTE is a very good college for students who want good college in low budget

- Infrastructure, Teaching method, Campus life, Faculty, Workshops, Industrial visits, Timely exams, Presentations, Labs , Experienced staff
- Good classrooms, lift service, library and sports facilities
Dislikes
- Placements are no good for mechanical and civil engineering students
- Events in college last for longer time which leads in wastage of time there should be proper plan so studies also don't get disturbed
Remarks :
PCTE has a very good learning environment . All facilities were available. My friends were enrolled in PCTE then i also came to college the quality of education was very good as compared to other colleges. I got admission into 3rd semester because of lateral entry. There is no exam or cutoff you can get admission easily in branches like Mechanical Civil and Computer science engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have done diploma in mechanical engg. and I got enrolled in PCTE for my degree. Teachers are experienced and highly qualified having doctorate degree and some are from top NITs. The method of teaching is very unique, Teachers teach us via projectors and presentations for better understanding of concepts. we have all facilities available for practical's. PCTE provides all essential facilities. To get the practical exposure we have 2 industrial visits in every semester. Teachers are only allowed to teach in English language only.
Internships Opportunities :
Through college you can do internship in EASTMAN CAST AND FORGE PVT. LTD. But why i dont decided to join is because of very low stipend and if you are not local it is very expensive they give just 4000-5000 stipend which is very less considering all expenses. I am doing internship in kashmir in CIIIT Baramulla which was started by TATA Technologies limited where i learn product design and development. It is a paid internship but worth it.
Placement Experience :
Placements for engineering is average but for other departments like BBA and Hotel management. there are timely placement sessions for students but the package offered in college is very low varying from 2-6 lakhs Per annum. I will say for placements its average
Campus Life :
Campus life is full of fun there are multiple fests conducted every year like Fashion show, Festa week, Sports meet, Mr. and Mrs. Punjab.These events take place every year in koshish event there are multiple things like singing dancing dumb charade group discussion drama sports debates etc. In PCTE there are libraries available in each department like for engineering there is separate library and for business students they have separate library. Gym, Football cricket, basketball, volley ball, 8 ball pool these are some of the facilities available. PCTE has Guest house where i lived and also has boys hostel and girls hostel. all three hostels are best and all necessary facilities are available like fridge , Air conditioner, Fan Induction Good washroom and kitchen .Food quality is good not the best but keeping the price in view the quality is better than other college hostels.Hostel is very affordable there are 3 types of room that are as Single sharing, Double sharing and Trippel shrng

To apply for placements in LPU you need to have 6+cgpa mostly. there no company as i know that went without recruiting any student. the highest was on campus was 51.03lakhs Microsoft and average was 5-6 lakhs. the students around 85 %will be placed .my plan was to do a decent job in any MNC.
Life at cgc landran.
Placement Experience :
Placement at CGC landran is decent around 70 to 80% student got placed based on your skills. The eligibility criteria usually includes minimum 60% marks with no active backlogs. Top recruiter companies includes TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini. The average package is around 3-4 lpa while highest package can go up to 10 to 12 lpa. Multiple offers are made every year across different domain.

I haven't done any intenship yet but Yes, internships are available at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali. Companies include TCS, Infosys, startups. Roles: Web Dev, QA, Data Analyst. Stipend ?5k–15k. Tasks include coding, testing, and project work.

Placement Experience :
The eligibility for placement is no backlog or reappear and CGPA IS above is 6 and fresher they get placement for 6thsem based on the skills and knowledge of the student and they provide a salary of 3 to 12 lakhs per/ year and recently SPICEJET company give around 8 lakhs CTC for 5 to 8 students and my plans after competing the degree is to do higher education in design modeling.

As the course is designed for pharmaceutical industry so the companies like mankind, sunpharma, macloid, overseas etc. Are top recruiters. The average package is 3-3.5 lakh per annum and highest goes upto 4lpa. As after masters most of the students goes for higher studies and teaching so the placement rate is low.

College doesn't keep any eligibility criteria for placement it depends on the company which came for recruitment and yea if you had scored around 8+ cgpa you are eligible for every company Regularly company which come for recruiting students are infosys,tcs ,jsw , cognizant, Capgemini,L&T,tata steel etc Average package is 4LPA and highest package is around 55 LPA Around 75-80 percent students get placed in the college Some of the branches like instrumentation and control engineering and mechanical engineering have around 98-100% placement in the previous year

Since the college comes under an institution it opens the gate for various company and even those which just require a graduation degree instead of a specific field. Cadila Lupin etc visits every year. Good 60 to 70 students gets placed.

The placement are good but there are a lot of criterias for the placement and the college faculties force us to take the placement in the development roles to show that the college has 100% placement.There are less companies for the consultancy or data based jobs. The college doesn't provide any on campus intership. They provide intership in the college Startups and they pay very very less and they exploit the interns as lot. I got only 500 rupees for doing 1 month internship and working 6 hours a week.
