Trident Academy of Technology Admission Dates 2027

First-year B.Tech government quota seats are allotted through OJEE counselling based on JEE-Main ranks. OJEE is also used for B.Tech lateral entry, which allows eligible students to join in the second year, as well as for MTech, MBA, and MCA admission. Trident Academy of Technology Courses and Fees

TAT provides B.Tech, Diploma, MTech, MBA, and MCA courses at its Bhubaneswar campus. Under the General (Non-Resident) quota, B.Tech and MCA cost INR 99,900 per year. Diploma students pay INR 30,000 per year, while the annual fee for MTech and MBA is INR 1,16,600.

The B.Tech programme has 11 specialisations. Most seats belong to the computer-focused group comprising CSE, CSIT, CST, AI and ML, and Data Sciences. The remaining branches include Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, VLSI Design, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biotechnology. Hostel facilities for boys and girls cost up to INR 67,000 per year, inclusive of the hostel fee.

TAT’s seven MTech options cover software and hardware fields. Along with CSE, AI and ML, Data Science, VLSI Design, and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, students may choose the newer Electrical Vehicle Engineering specialisation or Energy and Environment.

Admission routes differ by programme and seat category. OJEE counselling handles government quota allotment, while TAT directly fills management quota seats on merit where applicable.

1. B.Tech first-year admission: Students must pass Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational studies. They need at least 45% in aggregate, reduced to 40% for Odisha SC/ST students. The OJEE Board uses JEE-Main ranks to allot government quota seats through counselling at ojee.nic.in. TAT fills management quota seats directly on merit.
2. B.Tech lateral-entry admission: Diploma holders from relevant engineering branches and B.Sc graduates who studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics may apply to enter the second year. Applicants need 45% in the qualifying examination, or 40% for SC/ST students. Government quota allotment is based on the OJEE lateral-entry rank.
3. MTech admission: Applicants need a relevant B.Tech or MSc degree with at least 50%, or 45% for SC/ST students. Government quota seats use the OJEE MTech rank, while sponsored or self-financed seats consider GATE scores. The seven choices are Computer Science and Engineering, AI and ML, Data Science, VLSI Design, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Vehicle Engineering, and Energy and Environment.
4. MBA and MCA admission: MBA applicants need a bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50%. OJEE MBA ranks are used for admission, while MAT, CAT, or KMAT scores may support management quota applications. Group Discussion and Personal Interview follow. MCA admission is based on the OJEE MCA rank. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have studied Mathematics at undergraduate or Class 12 level, and secured 50%.

Trident Academy of Technology Placements

Campus placements at TAT drew 120 companies in the 2024-25 season. Recruiters represented IT services, IT products, banking and financial services, analytics, and manufacturing. The institute’s Chandaka campus lies in Bhubaneswar’s Infocity area, close to companies operating in the city’s technology corridor.

Most IT offers go to students from CSE, CSIT, CST, AI and ML, and Data Sciences. Civil, Mechanical, and EEE students have a smaller recruiter pool, mainly consisting of Odisha-based public sector units, construction businesses, and manufacturing companies.

MBA graduates mainly enter banking and financial services companies such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and IndusInd Bank, along with analytics firms in Bhubaneswar. MCA graduates commonly join IT service and product businesses. Embedded systems and semiconductor companies recruit students from VLSI Design. Based on recruiter numbers in recent years, TAT reports the highest campus recruiter count among engineering colleges affiliated with BPUT in Odisha.

Trident Academy of Technology Scholarships

Students at TAT may apply for state and central government scholarship schemes. Eligibility depends on factors such as domicile, social category, income, gender, disability, and family circumstances.

Applications for category-based government scholarships are submitted through scholarships.odisha.gov.in or the National Scholarship Portal. Odisha students from SC, ST, and OBC groups should begin their SSP applications at the start of each academic year, as the deadline generally falls in October-November. Trident Academy of Technology Campus and Infrastructure

TAT occupies a 10-acre campus at Chandaka Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar’s Infocity Area. It is beside the Odisha Computer Application Centre IT park and within the Chandrasekharpur technology zone. This location gives students access to nearby IT companies for internships and placement activities.

Separate department blocks serve all 11 B.Tech branches. Academic facilities include specialised computing and VLSI laboratories, a central library, conference spaces, and seminar facilities. MTech and MBA students use the same campus resources as the engineering departments. Laboratory and research facilities also support the MTech courses in Electrical Vehicle Engineering and Energy and Environment.

The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has recognised TAT as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation centre, supporting funded research at the institute. TAT also has ISO certification. Six BPUT-affiliated programmes hold NBA accreditation, which requires continuous programme-level improvement and measurement of learning outcomes in line with Washington Accord norms.

Trident Academy of Technology vs SIT vs CVRCE

Students taking part in OJEE counselling often compare TAT with Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT) and C.V. Raman College of Engineering (CVRCE). All three are private engineering institutions in Bhubaneswar with BPUT affiliation. Government quota allotment at these colleges depends on OJEE ranks.

SIT and CVRCE have a NAAC A grade, while TAT holds a B+ grade. TAT is based in Infocity, giving it closer access to IT recruiters and the city campus area than CVRCE’s location on the outskirts. Established in 1997, CVRCE has a longer history and a larger alumni network. SIT has a strong NIRF presence.

Each institution offers a similar range of computer science, artificial intelligence, and data-focused branches. A student’s choice generally depends on the closing rank, availability of the preferred branch, and location preference within Bhubaneswar.
