GIET University Admission Dates 2027

GIET University uses JEE Main scores for national-merit B.Tech seats and OJEE scores for Odisha-domicile seats. GATE is used for M.Tech admission, while MBA admission is based on OJEE MBA, CAT, or MAT. MCA admission is based on OJEE MCA. The 2026-27 admission process is over, and the next cycle is expected for the 2027-28 academic year.

For M.Tech, GATE 2027 is expected in February 2027, followed by OJEE M.Tech 2027 counselling in May to June 2027. MBA and MCA admissions follow the OJEE MBA and MCA cycles, which are usually held in May each year. Ph.D admission is handled directly by GIET University, and notices are released on the official university portal.

GIET University Courses and Fees

GIET University offers UG, PG, and doctoral courses in engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, nursing, management, and related fields. The table gives the total programme fee under the general quota. Students choosing campus accommodation have to pay an extra hostel fee of INR 92,000 to 1,24,000 per year for boys or girls hostels, based on room type and occupancy.

Among engineering courses, B.Tech CSE has the highest listed fee at INR 8.96 Lakhs. Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical branches are listed at INR 5.64 Lakhs. B.Sc Agriculture costs INR 7.20 Lakhs and follows an ICAR-approved structure with field training. At the PG level, M.Tech costs INR 1.80 Lakhs, MBA costs INR 2.80 Lakhs, and MCA costs INR 2.40 Lakhs.

GIET University Admission Process

Admission to B.Tech at GIET University is based on merit. Students applying for national-merit seats need a JEE Main score. Odisha-domicile applicants can use their OJEE B.Tech rank. For B.Tech eligibility, students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and score at least 45% marks in aggregate. For SC, ST, and OBC students, the minimum is 40%. Management quota admission is also available if the student meets the eligibility rules and submits the JEE Main score through the university portal.

B.Sc Agriculture admission is based on OJEE Agriculture rank or 10+2 merit in PCB or PCM. For B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing, students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

At the PG level, M.Tech admission gives priority to students with a valid GATE score. Odisha students without GATE can apply through OJEE M.Tech for state-quota seats. MBA admission accepts OJEE MBA, CAT, or MAT scores, and applicants must have at least 50% aggregate marks in any graduate degree. MCA admission is based on OJEE MCA rank, and the applicant must have a BCA or B.Sc degree with Mathematics.

For B.Tech, GIET University admits students across different JEE Main percentile ranges. OJEE B.Tech cutoff ranks for Odisha-domicile students change by branch and category. CSE branches usually see higher demand, so their cutoffs are tighter. The university publishes round-wise cutoffs after each OJEE counselling round on its official portal.

GIET University Placements

GIET University reports regular campus placements for engineering and management students. In the 2025 placement season, the placement rate stood at 97%. The highest package was INR 15 LPA, and the average package was INR 4.5 LPA. NIRF 2025 data lists the average salary as INR 4 LPA for B.Tech graduates and INR 5.50 LPA for M.Tech graduates.

Recruiters at GIET University include Zscaler, Accenture, Deloitte, Genpact, Highradius, TCS, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, ITC Infotech, Bajaj Finance, and Hitachi. GIET University Scholarships

GIET University offers different scholarship options for UG and PG students. These include merit-based institutional awards, central government schemes, and Odisha state government schemes. Eligible students can apply for more than one scheme if the rules allow it.

AICTE Pragati and Saksham applications are submitted through the AICTE portal, which usually opens in August each year. The School of Pharmacy runs pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacognosy, and formulation development labs as per PCI norms. The School of Nursing has skills labs with clinical simulation equipment aligned with INC standards.

Sports facilities include grounds for cricket, football, and athletics, along with indoor courts for basketball and table tennis. The campus can be reached by rail through Gunupur railway station on the Vishakhapatnam-Jagdalpur metre-gauge line. It is also connected by road from Rayagada town, which links to Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam through NH-326 and NH-516.
