Established in 1951 by Padmabhushan Sri. N. Ramaswami Ayyar, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College is one of the reputed women colleges in South India which provides quality education to girls in the field of Arts, Science, and Commerce. SRC Thiruchirapalli became one of the first seven colleges to be accredited by NAAC and is currently accredited with an A+ grade. The college is affiliated with Bharathidasan University and is recognized by UGC. SRC has ranked 101 among the top 200 Indian colleges by NIRF.

The college offers 21 courses at the UG level and 14 at the PG level (aided as well as self-financed) these include BA, MA, BSc, MSc, BCom, MCom and more.
