There is an intensive 2 step admission test starting from GAT (general ability test) and CAT (creative ability test) both take place on 1 day. GAT tests your general knowledge with basic questions related to maths, current affairs, mental ability and english. And CAT is for testing your drawing skills and your ability to interpret how well you can recieve very specific directions and implement them in a creative manner. Once you qualify these tests than after a month you are called for a situation test which is round 2 at the nearest NIFT campus. In this test you're given random objects/materials and are asked to create a 3d model in accordance to the objective mentioned. This is to test your creative functioning and ability to utilise what's given and implement a brand new ideation accordingly.

Creative ability rest, General ability test, situation test . For 1st round happening around January- February, you will be writing mcq exam for general ability test . Same Dat afternoon you will have you creative ability test. After qualify the 1st round then situation test for 2nd round.
