What's New In GMCET 2025?
Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET) 2025 registration process has been started by the Global Media Education Council (GMEC). The last date to register for GMCET 2025 is July 30, 2025. Candidates who have successfully filled their form within the given timeframe can take a printout of their GMCET Application Form 2025 from the official website gmcet.org.
GMCET 2025 exam date is July 31, 2025.
As per the GMCET Exam Pattern, the exam will be conducted in online mode, for a duration of 1 hour. GMCET Syllabus 2025 includes 4 sections including - English Language & IQ, General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs, Entertainment Media Knowledge, and Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge.
GMCET Results 2025 will be declared on August 01, 2025. Candidates will have to use their user login and password for viewing the results on the official website. All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank. The further process of admission will be notified to candidates by mail within 3 days of the declaration of the result.
What is GMCET?
Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET), earlier known as the All India Media Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) is an all-South Asia Global Media Common Entrance Test that offers admission to the Undergraduate media courses. This is the Institution & University level entrance exam which is scheduled in the months of April to August, once each month, this year. The exam is powered by edInbox, South Asia’s largest education focussed platform. GMCET was conducted by the Global Media Education Council (GMEC) for the first time in 2021.
The exam provides admission to several media courses like BA-JMC (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication) & BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication), BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), BMC (Bachelor of Mass Communication), BMM (Bachelor of Mass Media), BA (Media & Communication), BSc (Animation & Graphics), BSc (Media Technologies) Degree programs.

GMCET Application Process 2025
Candidates willing to sit for GMCET 2025 exam, need to fill out the GMCET Application Form available on the official website. Follow the instructions mentioned below:
- Visit the GMCET 2025 official website.
- Fill in your details in the ‘Application Open 2025’ box on the right side of the homepage and click on Submit.
- An automated email containing the Username and Password will be sent to your registered email ID or Phone Number.
- Log in to the official website using the provided Username and Password.
- After logging in to the portal, complete the application form filling in the required details.
- Pay the application fee of INR 2000/- through UPI/Paytm/Debit/Credit Card, PayU/ Net Banking as per the choice.
- After successful completion, the candidate can see the Application Form summary and Payment recipient on the dashboard.
- Download and take a printout of the application form summary and payment receipt and keep it safe for future reference.
GMCET Eligibility Criteria 2025
A candidate needs to fulfil the GMCET eligibility criteria as set by the GMEC to appear for the test:
- Candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC.

Candidates should be appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent Education.
- A candidate with a three or four-year diploma, from a recognized university approved by AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply.
GMCET Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2025
GMCET will be a multiple-choice questions-based exam of a total of 100 marks. GMCET 2025 assesses the basic knowledge of the applicant in four areas, with 25 questions in each segment: (A) English Language & IQ; (B) General Knowledge of News & Current Affairs; (C) Entertainment Media Knowledge; and (D) Brands & Brand Communication Basic Knowledge. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for any wrong or unattempted answers. The GMCET Pattern 2025 is tabulated below:

Candidates who have successfully completed their GMCET registration will be able to download the GMCET Admit Card 2025 from the official portal 48 hours before the exam. The Admit Card will bear the following details of the candidate:

GMCET 2025 Important Guidelines
Candidates are advised to read the guidelines before attempting the exam.
- The GMCET 2025 exam will be conducted in online mode and you can appear for it from your mobile, laptop or desktop.
- There will be 100 MCQ with One Correct Answer, to be attempted in 60 minutes.
- Candidates would be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer, however, there is no negative marking for any wrong answer.
- Candidates are requested to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination.
- Candidates can log in to the examination system using their registered mobile number.

GMCET Result 2025
GMCET Result 2025 will be released on August 01, 2025, on the official website. Candidates will need to log in to the official portal using their Used ID and Password for viewing the results on the webpage. All qualified candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank). Students who qualify for the GMCET exam will be called for a personal interview and the selected ones will further proceed to the counselling round. Candidates should go through some of the important points related to the GMCET Result as mentioned below:
- No hard copy of the GMCET Score Card will be available and hence, will NOT be sent to the qualified candidates either by post or by email.
- The result declared is generated through Digital Medium & Enrollment into the course is subject to further verification of documents. The further process of admission will be notified to candidates by mail within 3 days of the declaration of the result.
GMCET Admission Process 2025
Candidates appearing for GMCET 2025 and seeking admission to undergraduate media courses need to follow the process mentioned below:
- Based on the candidates’ GMCET score, they will be called for an interview.
- Candidates who qualify for the interview round can further appear for the Counselling Document Verification round in the universities to which they have applied for admission.
- Thereafter, they have to complete all the formalities and pay the course fee to confirm their admission.
