What's New in KEAM Counselling 2024?
KEAM 2024 Stray Vacancy allotment to MBBS/BDS Courses for the year 2024 is published on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in. The allotted candidates can take printouts of the allotment memo from the candidate portal.
- Candidates who receive an allotment should remit the fees as shown in the allotment memo and should join the course/ College allotted from October 30, 2024, to November 5, 2024 (4:00 PM).
- Candidates allotted under the SC/ST/OEC/ Fishermen category and those candidates from Sree Chitra Home, Juvenile Home, and Nirbhaya Home need not pay the tuition fee.
- However, if they are allotted under Minority/NRI quota seats in Self-financing Medical/Dental colleges they will have to remit the fee as shown in the allotment memo and they will not be eligible for any fee concession.
KEAM 2024 Vacancies in MBBS/BDS courses that have arisen in various Government/Self Financing Colleges after the third phase of allotment will be filled up through Stray Vacancy. It will be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

KEAM Counselling 2024
CEE follows the KEAM Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) to grant admissions to various Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy and Medical colleges across the state. Seat allotment through CAP is done based on merit, reservation and choices filled during the counselling process. The entire process is online and includes various rounds including a mop-up round if seats remain vacant.

KEAM Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Before registering for KEAM counselling, ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:
- KEAM Rank List 2024: You must have qualified for the examination and have your name in the rank list released by the authorities.
- Qualifying examination: You must have passed 10+2 with the requisite subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics for engineering, etc.
- Ensure you meet the criteria of nativity, age and other criteria as prescribed by CEE.
Eligibility For Stray Vacancy Allotment
- Only candidates included in the Kerala State Medical Rank List are eligible.
- Candidates who were allotted or admitted in the third phase or those with a status of admission from previous phases are not eligible.
- Candidates who exited after October 15, 2024, or were allotted through AIQ MCC counselling cannot participate.
Note - The seat received by the candidate through KEAM 2024 stray vacancy allotment cannot be changed at any instance.
KEAM Option Registration
While selecting the options available in KEAM counselling, make sure you adhere to the following guidelines:
- You can register for all the options available as you desire. There is no limit specified by the authorities.
- You will only be allotted the course and college combination that you’ve selected/chosen.
- If you fail to report to the allotted institute at the time and date specified, your seat will be forfeited despite paying the seat acceptance fees. Moreover, all the other existing options will also be cancelled.
- Following the first round of CAP, each subsequent round requires the confirmation of higher order options by logging to the option registration page and confirming it even if no cancellation/change in order is required.
- If you do not confirm the high-order options, it will lead to the automatic cancellation of those in the current and following rounds of CAP.
- Option confirmation before each counselling round is mandatory and the facility for the same will be updated on the website.
- You will have to accept a seat based on the preference order set and give up on the seat previously allotted if it was on a lower preference. Any request to retain the seat will not be entertained.
KEAM Counselling Procedure
The detailed KEAM counselling process is mentioned below:
Step 1: KEAM Option Registration
The KEAM registration process is entirely online at the official website. You need to register using your application ID and password mentioned on your security card; fill in your details and pay the registration fees.
Step 2: Exercise of Options
Once you’ve registered, you will be required to choose the course and college of your preference from the list of course-college combinations given. Make sure these are in order of your preference. Before locking the choices, you can edit, rearrange and modify the order.
Step 3: KEAM Trial Seat Allotment
Based on the options exercised and your rank, CEE conducts a mock allotment round to give you an idea of the course and colleges you can get. This is not the final allotment.
Step 4: Final Seat Allotment
You can check the final KEAM seat allotment result by logging in to the candidate portal.
If you are satisfied with the seat, you must download the allotment letter containing the college, course, fees and reporting details. Otherwise, if you’ve not gotten a seat, you will automatically be considered for the next round of counselling.
Step 5: Fee Payment
You will have to pay the seat acceptance fee of the college you got in on or before the last date. If you fail to do so, your seat will automatically be forfeited and you will not be allowed for further counselling rounds.
Step 6: Reporting at the Allotted Institute
The last step of the counselling involves reporting to the allotted college for which you’ve paid the seat acceptance fees. You will be required to carry original and printed copies of your documents for the verification process.
KEAM Counselling Procedure For Subsequent Rounds
In case you are not allotted a seat in the first round of KEAM counselling, you can participate in the subsequent rounds. Log in to the candidate portal and confirm options on the option registration page. You will be allowed to alter or change the existing preference set during round 1.
Note: After each round of KEAM seat allotment, the choices of lower preference will automatically be deleted.

Guidelines For KEAM 2024 Stray Vacancy Round
- Candidates should download the Data Sheet from the portal and submit it during college admission.
- Failure to join by the deadline will result in penalties as per the KEAM 2024 prospectus.
- Candidates who quit seats after taking admission either through stray vacancy allotment or through previous allotments conducted will be penalized as per KEAM 2024 Prospectus
- The deadline for admission at the allotted college is November 5, 2024 (4:00 PM).
