TANCET MBA Syllabus 2026

The MBA syllabus is skill-based rather than a long chapter list. The paper checks whether a candidate can read a situation, select useful data, perform the required calculation and choose a defensible answer. This makes caselets, passages and data-based questions as important as formula revision.

MBA Chapter Priorities from Previous Papers

Previous papers reward linked skills. A business caselet may require percentages, averages and data interpretation in the same set. Reading comprehension can test both direct facts and inference. Data sufficiency requires a different habit from ordinary calculation: the task is to judge whether a solution is possible, not always to finish the calculation.

• First priority: arithmetic, caselet-based data analysis, reading comprehension and grammar because these skills appear across more than one question type.
• Second priority: algebra, number properties, geometry, probability and statistics for Quantitative Ability and Data Sufficiency.
• Daily practice: one passage, one business caselet and a short mixed quantitative set. This is closer to the paper than studying one formula chapter for several days without timed questions.

TANCET MCA Syllabus 2026

The MCA paper has four named sections. The brochure also allows a few questions from verbal activity and basic science, so preparation should not stop at mathematics, reasoning and computers. Anna University does not state an equal 25-question split in the syllabus table.

Quantitative Ability

Arithmetic covers percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, mixtures, time and work, pipes, speed, distance and trains. Algebra includes equations, inequalities, indices, logarithms, sequences and progressions, functions and basic set operations. Students should also prepare number properties, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, permutations and combinations, probability and elementary statistics.

Analytical Ability

Analytical questions test how information is arranged and compared. Useful practice areas include tables and charts, data comparison, arrangements, distribution puzzles, ranking, selection conditions, statement-based cases and questions where several rules must be used together. Read the full condition set before making a diagram; one missed restriction can change every answer in the set.

Logical Reasoning

Cover number and letter series, analogy, classification, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions, order and ranking, syllogisms, Venn diagrams, statement and conclusion, assumptions, cause and effect, calendars, clocks, cubes, dice, mirror images and paper folding. Seating arrangements and multi-step puzzles should be practised under a timer because setup time matters as much as the final answer.

Computer Awareness

Start with computer organisation: CPU, memory hierarchy, input-output devices, storage, number systems and data representation. Then cover operating systems, files, processes, common software, computer networks, internet basics, databases, programming concepts, data structures and information security. Questions are usually concept-led, so definitions should be connected to examples: stack versus queue, RAM versus secondary storage, compiler versus interpreter, and LAN versus WAN.

Verbal Activity and Basic Science

The brochure permits a few questions outside the four main headings. For verbal activity, revise vocabulary, sentence usage, short comprehension and basic grammar. For basic science, keep school-level physics, chemistry and general scientific concepts in the revision plan, but do not let this smaller area replace the four named sections.

CEETA-PG 2026 Syllabus for M.Tech

M.Tech candidates write CEETA-PG, not the TANCET MBA/MCA paper. The 2026 paper has 100 questions for 100 marks in two hours. Part I and Part II are common and compulsory. Part III is the discipline chosen during registration; if a candidate answers a different discipline, that Part III response is not evaluated.

Part I: Engineering Mathematics

Previous CEETA papers place repeated attention on linear algebra, calculus, ordinary and partial differential equations, vector calculus, complex variables, transforms, numerical methods and probability and statistics. Since Part I contributes 10 marks, revision should favour formula recall and short calculations rather than long derivations.

Part II: Basic Engineering and Sciences

This common part draws from fundamentals used across engineering: applied physics and chemistry, computers, electrical and electronic basics, mechanics and materials, environmental science and general engineering awareness. A branch specialist can lose easy marks here by revising only Part III.

Part III: Discipline Paper

Part III carries 75% of the paper, so it should control the preparation plan. The 2026 syllabus is published by discipline, not by the title of every M.Tech specialisation. A candidate should match the registered Part III paper with the official syllabus PDF.

For MCA, build Quantitative Ability and reasoning together while keeping short Computer Awareness revision blocks. For CEETA-PG, complete the 75-mark discipline syllabus first, but reserve regular slots for the 25 common marks.
