UPESMET registration 2025 for MBA courses starts on October 14, 2024. The last date for UPESMET registration is January 21, 2025. The application form is available on the official website upes.ac.in. Check Details Here
UPESMET 2027 registration is open according to the official UPESMET notice for MBA admission at UPES Dehradun. The online test has 140 questions in two hours, with 35 each in General English, Quantitative, General Awareness, and Analytical and Logical Reasoning. The exam dates and application deadline have not been announced.
Most MBA programmes require 50% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. Four EY-linked programmes require 60% in graduation, while keeping the school-level requirement at 50%. The entrance test is followed by a personal interview; meeting the academic minimum alone does not confirm admission.
UPESMET is the UPES Management Entrance Test for the two-year MBA at UPES Dehradun. Graduates from any discipline can apply if they meet the programme's marks requirement. It is different from UPESMET-UG, which is used for undergraduate management admission.
MBA selection can use UPESMET or an accepted national-level test, followed by the personal interview. An exemption from UPESMET only means that another test score can be used. The academic and interview rules still apply.
| Programme | Class 10 | Class 12 | Graduation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Most MBA programmes | 50% | 50% | 50% |
| Four EY-linked programmes: Strategic Financial Management, AI for Business, Financial Technology, Investment Banking and Capital Markets | 50% | 50% | 60% |
The bachelor's degree must be from a recognised university; any discipline is accepted. The percentages apply to each qualification separately. A high graduation score does not compensate for a Class 10 or Class 12 score below the stated minimum.
For example, a student with 55% in graduation and at least 50% in Class 10 and Class 12 meets the marks rule for most MBA programmes. The same student does not meet the 60% graduation rule for Strategic Financial Management, AI for Business, Financial Technology, or Investment Banking and Capital Markets.
Students in the final year of graduation can also apply. They still need to complete the degree and meet the selected programme's marks requirement for admission. Enter the academic position accurately instead of presenting an incomplete degree as passed.
The course name matters. The MBA in AI for Business has the higher graduation requirement; a Generative AI for Business specialisation listed within Business Analytics is a different option. Match the programme selected in the form to its own eligibility condition.
Choose the MBA application for academic year 2027-28 through UPES admissions. Register with an email address and mobile number that will remain active through the test and interview. Enter the required personal and academic details and select the MBA programme. Applicants using a national-level test must provide its score details when asked.
| Application detail | What to enter or keep ready |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name, date of birth and identification details matching your records |
| School marks | Class 10 and Class 12 marks separately |
| Degree | University, qualification, marks and completed/final-year status |
| Programme | The exact MBA course and specialisation |
| National-level test | Applicable scorecard and test details |
| Payment | Application confirmation and successful payment receipt |
The official MBA admission page lists an application fee of INR 1,750. This is separate from tuition, hostel charges and any payment required to accept an admission offer. Save the application number; it is used with your test credentials.
UPES has not opened the 2027 demo-test and exam-slot booking links in the current notice. Completing the form does not mean that a test slot or an interview appointment has already been assigned. Watch the applicant account and registered contacts for those steps.
| Section | Syllabus areas | Questions | Question share |
|---|---|---|---|
| General English | Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability | 35 | 25% |
| Quantitative | Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency | 35 | 25% |
| General Awareness | General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario | 35 | 25% |
| Analytical and Logical Reasoning | Analytical and logical reasoning | 35 | 25% |
The four sections carry equal numbers of questions: 35 of 140, or 25% each. That calculation describes the section share, not chapter-wise weightage. The complete test lasts two hours; the current notice does not assign a separate official time limit to each section.
The AY 2026 candidate guide linked by UPES states no negative marking. The 2027 notice confirms the question distribution and duration, but does not separately give a complete marks-per-answer scheme. Use the marking instructions for your actual attempt; do not convert a mock result into an assumed official percentile.
| Section | Practice task | Review focus |
|---|---|---|
| General English | Read a passage, identify its main claim and distinguish an inference from a statement directly made | Explain why the rejected option goes beyond the passage |
| Quantitative | Interpret tables and charts; test whether given statements provide enough information | Separate calculation errors from a wrong assumption about sufficient data |
| General Awareness | Connect a business event with the company, industry, regulator or economic concept involved | Recall both the event and why it matters to that business |
| Analytical and Logical Reasoning | Translate conditions into a diagram, order or set of possible arrangements | Test each conclusion against every condition |
General Awareness includes the business scenario, so preparing only static GK leaves out part of the stated scope. For a merger, policy change or market development, connect the event to the companies or sector involved and the business reason behind it.
Data sufficiency needs a different decision from an ordinary calculation. First ask whether the information fixes one answer; do not calculate a result by adding an unstated assumption. In reasoning, a diagram that omits one condition can produce several answers that look plausible.
English, quantitative and reasoning practice for CAT can support overlapping skills. UPESMET also has a separate General Awareness section, so a preparation plan limited to those three areas is incomplete.
UPES sends the actual test passkey to the registered contact details one day before the exam. Keep the application number, date of birth and passkey available. Use the actual-exam passkey sent by UPES. The 2027 demo-test instructions have not been released.
The linked AY 2026 guide uses a camera-and-microphone check, face verification and a government-photo-ID step. These are useful preparation checks: confirm that the camera sees your face clearly, the microphone is available to the test system and the ID image is readable. Follow the 2027 instructions for the final device and permitted-material rules.
That older guide allowed login between 10 AM and 2 PM, with a two-hour timer starting at login. The 2027 slot schedule has not been published; do not treat the old login window as your confirmed appointment.
For missing credentials or a login problem, contact 1800-102-8737 between 10 AM and 7 PM or enrollments@upes.ac.in. Include the application number, registered contact details and the error message so admissions can identify the attempt.
UPES accepts several national-level test scores for MBA selection. However, the 2027-28 page says the minimum scores for exemption have not been announced. A score shown elsewhere on the page should not be treated as the confirmed 2027 cutoff.
| Test and cycle shown in one section | Figure shown |
|---|---|
| MAT / CMAT 2027 | 70 percentile |
| CAT 2026 / XAT 2027 | 50 percentile |
| GMAT | 400 |
| NMAT 2026/27 | 120 |
These figures appear in one selection section of the current UPES page, while its dedicated AY 2027-28 non-exam section says the qualifying scores are TBA. Until UPES removes that conflict, the figures should not be treated as confirmed 2027-28 exemption cutoffs. The accepted score year and test version must match the rule shown in the application.
As per the MBA admissions page, CUET-PG is also accepted, but no minimum score is given. Submit the score for the test being used when asked. Shortlisted candidates still attend the personal interview and must meet the Class 10, Class 12 and graduation rules.

A general MBA offers functional choices such as Marketing, Finance and Operations. The domain programmes apply management study to a particular industry, such as aviation, energy or logistics. When selecting a programme, compare the subject focus with the work you want to discuss in the interview; similar-sounding names can lead to different course options.
The 2027-28 tuition fees and scholarship details have not been announced. Keep the application fee separate from the cost of the degree. An older scholarship percentage does not establish the amount payable against a 2027 offer.
The UPES profile provides wider university information. Read any older fee or placement figures with their stated year rather than treating them as the 2027 MBA fee or a guaranteed outcome.
Shortlisted students attend a personal interview after UPESMET or after submitting an accepted test score. UPES has not announced the 2027 interview dates, city schedule or result date. The current notice does not give fixed weightage for the test and interview or a guaranteed qualifying score.
Prepare to explain the degree or work experience listed in your application and why you chose that MBA. An Aviation Management applicant can discuss an airline or airport business issue; an Oil and Gas Management applicant can connect an energy-market development with a business decision. Use a subject you can explain and defend rather than memorising a broad answer about leadership.
Keep examples tied to your own work: what a project was meant to do, your contribution, the result and the limitation. If a question tests business awareness, separate the reported fact from your interpretation. These are interview-preparation suggestions, not a published scoring rubric.
After selection, check the course name, academic conditions, documents, fee amount and acceptance deadline in the offer. Submit the final degree result when required. An application acknowledgement or a test exemption is not the same as a confirmed admission offer.
No. The requirement applies separately to Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. For the four EY-linked programmes, graduation must meet 60% while both school qualifications must meet 50%.
Yes. UPES accepts a recognised graduation degree in any discipline for these MBA programmes. The Class 10, Class 12 and graduation marks rules still apply.
Final-year students can apply. Enter your final-year status and available marks. Admission still depends on completing the degree and meeting the selected programme's required percentage.
No. MBA in AI for Business is a separately listed EY-linked programme with a 60% graduation requirement. Generative AI for Business is also listed as a specialisation under Business Analytics. Select the exact programme rather than assuming every course containing AI has identical eligibility.
No. UPES publishes 35 questions in each section and two hours for the full test. Dividing 120 minutes into four equal blocks is a possible practice plan, not an announced sectional timer.
Use the actual-exam passkey sent by UPES to your registered contacts. The 2027 demo-test instructions have not been released. Keep the application number and date of birth ready with the passkey.
The AY 2026 candidate guide linked by UPES says there is no negative marking. The 2027 notice confirms the 140-question pattern and two-hour duration but does not separately publish a complete marks-per-answer scheme. Follow the instructions for your booked test.
No. An accepted test score may exempt a student from UPESMET if the required score is met. A shortlisted student still attends the personal interview and must meet the programme's academic rules.
Not by assuming a direct score conversion. The current UPES page shows 400 in one selection section but says the AY 2027-28 qualifying scores are TBA in another. The score scale, accepted version and score-validity period must match the final admission rule.
No. INR 1,750 is the published application fee. Tuition, accommodation and any offer-acceptance payment are separate. Use the applicable fee schedule and the actual offer for the amount and deadline to pay.
