The WBJEE 2026 result will be published by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) on their official websites – wbjeeb.nic.in and wbjeeb.in. As per last year, the exam is likely to take place in late April 2026, and the results are likely to be announced between late May and early August 2026 (WBJEEB normally tries to announce the results within 4-6 weeks of the exam).

Last year, the WBJEE 2025 exam took place on April 27, 2025, and the results were announced on August 22, 2025, but there was a delay due to some legal matters.

Understanding WBJEE 2026 Marking Scheme

The WBJEE has three types of questions and the marking scheme is different for each type. Here’s how your marks will be calculated:

Mathematics (Paper 1):

Category 3: If you get one correct and one wrong in a multi-correct question, you get ZERO – not negative marks.

Physics & Chemistry (Paper 2):

Same marking scheme as Mathematics. Each paper (Physics and Chemistry) follows the category system.

Your total score out of 200 = Mathematics (100) + Physics (50) + Chemistry (50)

WBJEE 2026 Merit Lists (GMR & PMR)

The WBJEEB have TWO merit lists, and your rank will be mentioned according to the papers you have attempted:

WBJEE Result 2026 Tie Breaking Process

If two students have the same marks, WBJEEB uses a step-by-step process to resolve the tie and assign ranks. The following criteria are used one by one until the tie is resolved:

• The candidate with less negative marks in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry combined will have the better rank.
• If the tie still exists, the candidate with more positive marks in Maths and Physics will have the better rank.
• Then, more positive marks in Maths and Chemistry will be considered.
• Next, the candidate with less negative marks in Maths and Physics will be given preference.
• Then, less negative marks in Maths and Chemistry will be checked.
• More marks in 2-mark questions of Maths, then Physics, then Chemistry will be compared.
• Then, less wrong answers in 2-mark questions of Maths, Physics, and Chemistry will be considered one by one.
• If the tie still exists, the older candidate (as per date of birth) will be assigned the higher rank.
