Once the results are out, you can download your rank card very easily from the official website:
Your WBJEE rank card has all the necessary details required for admissions.
The WBJEE has three types of questions and the marking scheme is different for each type. Here’s how your marks will be calculated:
| Category | Number of Questions | Marks for Each Correct Answer | Negative Marking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Category 1 | Multiple questions (Easy ones) | +1 mark | -0.25 marks |
| Category 2 | Single correct answer | +2 marks | -0.5 marks |
| Category 3 | Multiple correct answers | +2 marks | Special (see below) |
Category 3: If you get one correct and one wrong in a multi-correct question, you get ZERO – not negative marks.
Same marking scheme as Mathematics. Each paper (Physics and Chemistry) follows the category system.
Your total score out of 200 = Mathematics (100) + Physics (50) + Chemistry (50)
WBJEE 2026 Merit Lists (GMR & PMR)
The WBJEEB have TWO merit lists, and your rank will be mentioned according to the papers you have attempted:

|---|---|---|
| Papers Appeared | Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry) | Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry) |
| Applicable Courses | Engineering, Technology, Architecture, and Pharmacy | Pharmacy only |
| Universities Covered | All participating universities in West Bengal | All participating universities except Jadavpur University |
| Basis of Rank Calculation | Total marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (descending order) | Total marks in Physics and Chemistry (descending order) |

| Category-wise Ranks Available | SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, TFW | SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, TFW |
If two students have the same marks, WBJEEB uses a step-by-step process to resolve the tie and assign ranks. The following criteria are used one by one until the tie is resolved:

Ques. When can we expect the results of WBJEE 2026?
Ans. Results are expected to be announced 4-6 weeks after the exam, probably in late May or early June 2026.
Ques. How long is the rank of WBJEE 2026 valid?
Ans.Your rank is valid only for the 2026-27 session. It is not valid for the next academic session.
Ques. What if you forget your login credentials?
Ans. If you forget your application number or password, first check your email, as WBJEEB usually sends the application number there. You can also get it from your admit card. Then click on the “Forgot Password” option on the result page and follow the instructions. If you still face problems with login, contact the WBJEE helpline.
Ques. Is re-evaluation allowed?
Ans. WBJEE does not allow rechecking or re-evaluation of OMR sheets. You can only challenge the provisional answer key within the stipulated time. Once the final result is announced, it cannot be altered.
Ques. When does counseling start?
Ans. Counselling starts 2-3 months after the result. If results are out in May-June, counseling will be in August. First, the seat matrix is released, then registration and choice filling.
Ques. Is PMR sufficient for admission?
Ans. If you have a Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) since you appeared for only Paper 2, you can apply for pharmacy courses. But PMR is not sufficient for admission to engineering or architecture courses. Also, Jadavpur University requires only GMR for pharmacy, not PMR.
Ques. Is a West Bengal domicile necessary?
Ans. No. Any student from any state can appear for the WBJEE. But government college seats through state quota are generally reserved for WB domicile students. Non-domicile students can apply for open or management quota seats, mainly in private colleges.
Ques. Can JEE Main qualified students also join WBJEE counseling?
Ans. Yes. Private engineering colleges in West Bengal reserve up to 10% seats for JEE Main qualified students. But for government colleges like Jadavpur University, you must have a rank in WBJEE.
