Government College of Engineering Amravati is inviting applications for PhD Admission for the following disciplines; Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Production, Computer Engineering, and Chemistry. The last date for the submission of the application form for PhD course at GCOEA is December 16, 2024. The application fee is INR 1000.

Eligibility Criteria For PhD Admission

To be eligible for the admission, candidates must have:-

  • Master's Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in the relevant research area, along with a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology or equivalent, with a first-class or equivalent grade point.
  • Students having a valid PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) Score from Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University are eligible.
  • Students having a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Score are also eligible.

Documents Required For PhD Admission

Candidates must submit photocopies of the following self-attested documents at the time of admission:-

  • Marksheet of Qualifying Degree and Degree Certificate
  • Migration Certificate, if migrating from another university
  • Certificate of Equivalence, if the qualifying degree requires equivalence from the SGB Amravati University
  • Transfer Certificate / Leaving Certificate
  • PET/SET/NET/GATE/GPAT/M.Phil certificate/Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate (or Caste Validity, as applicable)
  • Creamy Layer Certificate, if required
  • Identity and Address proof (such as Aadhaar, Driving License, Passport, Employer ID, PAN Card, or Voter ID)

Selection Procedure For PhD Admission

The step-by-step selection process is outlined below:-

  • Eligible students will be shortlisted based on GATE/PET scores and interviews by the Institute's RAC Committee.
  • Candidates must have a Master's degree in the relevant research area along with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Total seats available: 8 (1 from each branch).
  • Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be interviewed by the RAC Committee.
  • The RAC Committee will shortlist suitable candidates for the PhD program under the Diamond Jubilee Research Scholar Scheme.
  • The shortlisted names will be forwarded to the university for eligibility, GATE/PET exemption, and other formalities.
