Formerly known as Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Ramdeobaba University was established in 1984 by the Shri Ramdeobaba Saravjanik Samiti. The university is NBA and NAAC accredited, in addition to being AICTE approved. RBU Nagpur offers a diverse range of courses in Engineering, Management, Humanities, Computer Sciences, Languages, Vocational Sciences and Entrepreneurship.

RBU Nagpur is known for its four-year BE program. Students can choose to pursue in-depth study in one of the 13 specialisations offered here. RBU Nagpur BE Admissions requires the candidate to have completed 10+2 or its equivalent with 45%, in Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects. Selection of the candidate will be based on their JEE Main/MHTCET/Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG)/ CET conducted by Other State DTE Scores. Candidates from Maharashtra are granted admission based on their MAH-CET Scores, whereas candidates from Other States are enrolled based on their JEE Mains or MHT-CET Scores. The total fees for this course is Rs 6.09 Lakhs.
Admission to BE is also granted via Lateral Entry - the total fees is Rs 4.17 Lakhs.
A wide variety of courses is offered at RBU Nagpur, some of which include MBA, MTech, MCA, and an Integrated BBA + MBA.

Ramdeobaba University Nagpur offers various scholarships for its students. These include scholarships for top academic performers, hostel residents (boys/girls) admitted to the UG program, and research scholarships. The institute also provides incentives for achievements in sports, cultural and social activities, as well as for the "Student of the Year" and performance in competitive exams.

RBU Nagpur Placement Drive 2024 ended on a positive note, with the highest CTC being offered at INR 50 LPA. The average CTC was recorded at INR 6.9 LPA. The total job offers made at the placement drive were 1105. The campus was scouted for workforce by 98 companies. Mass recruiters at RBU Nagpur included Accenture, IBM and TCS.
