The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at KIET Group of Institutions proudly announced the 5th International Conference on Advances in AI for Biomedical Instrumentation, Electronics, and Computing (ICABEC-2023) on the 22nd and 23rd of December 2023. This prestigious event was not only indexed in Scopus and approved by CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group) but also received robust support from notable sponsors such as the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, IFFCO New Delhi, MathWorks, Pine Training Academy, and ACE Academy. 

The conference marked a significant milestone in academia and research by accepting 109 papers from more than 300 global submissions. Among these, a notable three papers originated from the United States, underscoring the event's international reach. Furthermore, an impressive 106 papers were from India, spanning 11 diverse states including Andhra Pradesh, New Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, reflecting the nation's extensive intellectual contribution to the field.

The event was graced with the presence of luminaries from various esteemed institutions, adding to its prestige. In this mega event, Dr. Karoon Agrawal (MBBS, MS, MCh, Director, National Heart Institute, New Delhi) & Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Tomar (G. B. Pant Agriculture & Technological University, Uttarakhand) was the Guest of Honor, and Prof. J. P. Pandey (Vice Chancellor, AKTU, Lucknow) was the Chief Guest. They, alongside KIET's leadership, including Director-in-charge Dr. Anil Ahlawat, Joint Director Dr. Manoj Goel, and Additional Director Dr. Shailesh Tiwari, provided invaluable insights and leadership that greatly enriched the conference's proceedings. 

The event commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Dr. Vibhav Kumar Sachan, who not only warmly received the attendees but also emphasized the institution's 25 years of educational excellence and the conference's pivotal role as a platform for AI, biomedical instrumentation, and computing. He highlighted the significant acceptance of 109 research papers and the particular focus on digital healthcare systems, urging participants to explore and innovate over the conference's duration.

Throughout the conference, the leadership and insights of key figures like Dr. Shailesh Tiwari and Dr. Manoj Goel profoundly influenced the proceedings. Dr. Shailesh Tiwari, the Additional Director of KIET, with his deep understanding of the biomedical and technological nexus, provided invaluable guidance. His vision for integrating technology in healthcare inspired attendees to consider new paradigms of innovation and collaboration. Dr. Manoj Goel, the Joint Director of KIET, brought his extensive experience and academic rigor to the forefront. He emphasized the importance of equipping global engineers and professors with cutting-edge scientific knowledge, fostering an environment of shared learning and symbiotic growth. Dr. Anil Ahlawat, the Director In-charge, also played a crucial role in the conference towards success.

Dr. Karoon Agarwal, Director of the National Heart Institute, New Delhi, illuminated the symbiotic relationship between medical and engineering fields in his address. He emphasized how engineering, particularly through advancements in AI and biomedical instrumentation, can revolutionize healthcare. Dr. Agarwal stressed the critical role of cutting-edge engineering technologies and research in solving medical challenges. 

Dr. Abhishek Tomar, Professor at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Uttarakhand, highlighted the convergence of agriculture and biomedical engineering in his speech. Using the health issues of cows as an example, he explained how advanced biomedical sensors and monitoring systems could transform animal healthcare. Dr. Tomar illustrated that such technologies could provide early diagnosis and timely treatment of diseases, revolutionizing agricultural and animal husbandry practices.

This mega event was witnessed by all Deans and HoDs of the departments, who attended with their students. Faculty members and students alike engaged wholeheartedly, adding to the event's dynamic and inclusive spirit. Esteemed doctors also participated in this two-day conference, contributing their expertise and insights.
