GCET Courses and Fees

GCET has B.Tech courses in 12 specialisations and more than 3,000 seats, giving it one of the larger single-campus B.Tech intakes among AKTU colleges in Greater Noida. MBA and MCA each have 60 seats.

Hostel fees are charged separately. The boys hostel fee is INR 95,000 to INR 1,71,000 per year, while the girls hostel fee is INR 1,60,000 to INR 1,71,000 per year. The final amount depends on the room type and whether meals are included.

GCET Admission Process

GCET admits B.Tech students through two routes. UPTAC fills 85% of B.Tech seats under the state quota, while GCET fills 15% of seats directly under the management quota.

B.Tech Admission (State Quota)

For state quota admission, students need a valid JEE Main 2026 score. AKTU uses the JEE Main percentile to prepare the UP state rank for UPTAC counselling. For CSE at GCET, the General category closing rank in JEE Main 2025 was 75,916 (All India CRL). Branches such as ECE, Mechanical, and Civil close at higher ranks.

• Register on the UPTAC portal from May to June and add GCET with the preferred branch choices
• After allotment, report to GCET with original Class 10, Class 12, and JEE mark sheets
• Pay the first-year fee before the deadline to lock the allotted seat

B.Tech Admission (Management Quota)

For management quota admission, students must have at least 60% in 10+2 PCM. UPTAC allotment is not required for this route. GCET also considers GEEE, Galgotias Engineering Entrance Exam, scores for management quota seats. Students can apply directly at the Greater Noida campus or through gcet.ac.in. For SC/ST students, the minimum PCM requirement is 40% for both admission routes.

MBA and MCA Admission

MBA applicants must hold a graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate. GCET accepts CAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, and ATMA scores for MBA admission. Shortlisted students appear for a group discussion and personal interview on campus. The final selection is based on entrance score, GD performance, PI score, and academic record. MCA admission needs BCA or B.Sc (CS/Maths) with 50% and is done through AKTU state MCA counselling. Mathematics is compulsory at Class 12 or graduation level.

GCET Placements

GCET has a central Training and Placement cell that begins pre-placement training from the second year. In the 2024 placement season, the highest package reached INR 44 LPA and the average CTC was INR 5.5 LPA. A total of 845 students were placed, giving the college a 79% placement rate. The placement cell reports that more than 700 companies have visited across cumulative placement cycles.

TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Accenture are confirmed core recruiters at GCET. The highest placement numbers come from CSE, AI/ML, and Data Science branches. The placement cell also helps students take part in off-campus drives.

GCET Rankings

GCET is listed in the NIRF Engineering rankings. In NIRF 2025, the college was ranked in the 201 to 300 band for Engineering. It is among the private AKTU-affiliated colleges in Greater Noida that have maintained a presence in NIRF.

GCET has an NAAC B++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Its autonomous status under AKTU allows the college to frame its own curriculum, examination pattern, and grading system outside the common affiliating-university format.

GCET Scholarships

GCET scholarships are linked to JEE Main national rank and UPTAC UP state rank. The Galgotias Founders Scholarship works as a need-cum-merit scheme. Reserved category students can also apply for government scholarships.

GCET Campus and Infrastructure

GCET has a 19-acre campus in Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida. The area has many universities and companies, and students can reach Noida and Delhi through the metro and expressway network.

The college has separate hostels for boys and girls, a central library, computing labs, advanced ECE and EEE labs, mechanical engineering workshops, and a sports complex. For CSE and AI/ML students, the labs include GPU workstations and cloud computing terminals used in the AI and Data Science curriculum.

Student groups at GCET include IEEE, ACM, SAE, and technology clubs. These groups organise coding contests, hackathons, and annual technical festivals. The Training and Placement wing starts aptitude training, mock technical interviews, and group discussion workshops from the second year.

GCET vs KIET Group of Institutions vs Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology

Students applying through UPTAC in the Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad region often compare GCET with KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, and Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida. All three are private AKTU-affiliated engineering colleges and attract the same TS UPTAC applicant group.

KIET has the stronger institutional quality indicators among the three, with an NAAC A+ grade and a 101 to 150 NIRF Engineering band. GCET offers the highest B.Tech seat count and the widest range of specialisations in this comparison. NIET has an NAAC A grade and is also located in Greater Noida, close to GCET. Students who give more weight to NIRF rank may prefer KIET, while students looking for more seats and programme choices may find GCET wider in scope.
