The MANTHAN 2.0, an inter-school quiz competition, the highly awaited second chapter flagship programme of the KIET Group of Institutions, Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad was organized on 11th and 12th December 2023. A nationwide event that attracts nearly 12000 online registrations from senior secondary schools of Rajasthan, Bangalore, Punjab, Assam, West Bengal and other states.

On day 1 of the competition, more than 250 participants registered themselves who were qualified for the offline quarterfinal and semi-final rounds on campus. Some of the schools that participated in the competition are Oak Grove School Mussoorie, Goenka Public School,

Jhansi, DAV Calderys School Katni, Presidium Raj Nagar, DPS Hisar, Chitra Group of Institutions, Kanpur, G.M.S.S Sarai Khwaza, Aum Sun Public School Muradnagar, Surevin International School, Modinagar, K.L. International School, Meerut, Shaheed Babu Singh Public School, Mohali, Punjab, and Gayatri Public School, Agra.

The program was inaugurated with the greeting of the guests by the Head of PR & International Relations, DR Preeti Chitkara and lamp lighting by Dr Manoj Goel, Joint Director, Dr Anil Ahlawat, Director Incharge, Dr Shailesh Tiwari, Additional Director, institutional HoDs and functional heads in the presence of Mr Vikaas Naagru, Guest Speaker, Mr Gautam Bose, Celebrity Quiz Master, and all the principals and school teachers.

As the event proceeded, Dr. Anil Ahlawat highlighted the importance of quizzing. He said, “Raja Vikramaditya was known for his justice; justice comes through wit and activities like these, help in the grooming of kids and improving their wit, intellect and wisdom.”

Another key highlight of the event was Mr Naagru’s session on ‘Tune Your Brain’. He played mind exercises and games during his session that were perplexing and engaging which kept everyone amazed and entertained.

The top 12 teams out of 80+ teams were qualified for the semi-final rounds, while the top 6 teams i.e. 2 teams from K.L. International School, Meerut, and 1 team each from Vanasthali Public School, BBPS Noida, Heritage Academy, and Oak Grove School Mussoorie competed against each other for the winner’s trophy in the Grand Finale on 12 th December 2023.

Both days of the competition were started by the Celebrity Quiz Master Mr Gautam Bose in a very interactive and playful manner. He interacted with the participating teams as well as with the audience and awarded them with ceramic mugs, keychains, pens, and other gifts, upon giving the right answer to the question.

The MANTHAN 2.0, was won by the team from Oak Grove School Mussoorie, they were awarded a winner’s trophy along with a winning amount of Rs. 25,000, certificates and other goodies. The team from K.L. International School, Meerut and Bal Bharati Public School, Noida were declared as the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively and they were awarded an amount of Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively along with certificates and other goodies.

There was a separate segment of a quiz specially conducted for specially-abled students by the Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan and Swayam Special School, in addition to the Grand Finale of teams from senior secondary schools. The team MBCN 4 from Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan won the quiz, conducted by the quizzing student club of KIET. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs.5000 along with certificates and other goodies.

A poster-making competition was also organised alongside the quiz competition, participated by the students from Wisdom International School. They made posters to cheer for their favourite team during the competition. The winning poster was awarded with exclusive gifts.

Dr Manoj Goel, Joint Director, congratulated the winning team and all the other teams that participated in the event and Dr Preeti Chitakara, presented a complete report of both days and explained how MANTHAN 2023 came out to be a bigger and grandeur than MANTHAN 2022.

Towards the end, the institute felicitated and honoured all the school principals, teachers, sponsors, media partners, and guests to make the event successful. The Assistant head of International Relations, Dr Madhu Gautam, thanked everyone including the deans, HoDs, and Functional heads of the institute for being a part of the event. The event ended with a group photograph and national anthem.
